Combining lightweight design with features like advanced locking mechanisms and ergonomic grips, LEKI's Cressida Women's trekking poles offer support and durability at a weight of only 15.59 ounces per pair.
Lightweight, fully featured and extremely easy to use, the LEKI Cressida Women’s Trekking Poles are the perfect companion for trekking, hiking, backpacking or any time you need more stability while out on the trail.
The first thing to talk about with these poles this... they are made with very light weight, but very sturdy aluminum. And LEKI guarantees the aluminum shafts of their trekking poles for breakage for a lifetime. So you have got a really 100 percent guarantee backed by LEKI there. And LEKI is using their Speed Lock 2 locking mechanisms. So this is a telescoping trekking pole. You have got three different sections which make it very com-pact when you compress it down to be the smallest size that it can be. So great for travel.
These locks couldn't be any simpler to use. So they are Speed Lock 2 locking mechanisms. They are on the exterior of the pole. And all you need to do is flick it open with your thumb, adjust it to the proper height and flick it closed. They are really easy to ad-just with your thumb. You don’t need to use a lot of force, a lot of strength to open and close that lock, but once it is clamped down it is a very, very secure hold. And the same thing on the bottom. Open that up and adjust it to the proper height.
Now these poles do have markings on the shaft sections and they are going to adjust from 90 centimeters all the way up to 125 centimeters. So you has a lot of adjustability there. And these are a women’s specific pole so you get a little bit lighter weight and you have a little bit more adjustability. If you do need a pole that adjusts up higher than 125 centimeters, LEKI certainly makes poles that are longer. But you have a lot of adjustability there.
If I go up to the grip here you have a really soft ergonomic grip. And this is a great grip for if your hands are perspiring. You are going to have grip there. It is not going to be slippery. And I just find the ergonomic grip to be very, very comfortable. There is a couple of different ways you can use the grip here. LEKI does have kind of a dimpled top on this trekking pole and it is egg shaped. So you can really palm the top of this pole very comfortably. If you are going down hill or if you like to use the pole in that way, it is a very comfortable top. And then obviously you can use it in the normal way.
Very lightweight, comfortable wrist strap here. And the way to adjust this is really simple. You just pull up on the top string and then you can adjust this from the bottom. So this really takes the pressure off of your wrists as you are hiking with this pole. It is a very comfortable woven strap, very soft. And it also keeps the weight down, so it is very light weight.
If I go down to the bottom of the trekking pole, you have got LEKI’s carbide flex tips. And you have a very durable carbide end on this tip. And the reason they are called flex tips is because the bottom of this pole is actually meant to, you know, kind of take the pressure, or, you know, any damage that would occur to the pole if you were in the unlikely situation of getting this stuck between rocks. This tip is going to take that pressure rather than the actual shaft section of the pole. So while you can’t really tell, it doesn't flex in front of you, it is not a flexible tip or anything like that, but it is designed to either bend or flex or break before the actual shaft section. So this is a replicable piece. It is press fit on the end of the pole and after years of use you can buy a replacement and re-place it on to the pole or, like I said, in the unlikely event of breakage you can get a re-placement there.
This does come with a standard performance basket. So you have got a basket on there to give you a little bit of floatation in mud or dirt. You can take that basket off and if you need a winter basket or a basket that just gives you more floatation in winter conditions you can take that off and replace it with a bigger snow basket.
All in all this is a very lightweight, very easy to use pole that is going to give you a lot of stability. You are backed by LEKI’s excellent policy for shaft breakage of their aluminum poles. And, like I said, with these locks, couldn’t be any easier to use. So I can see this ... these trekking poles being great for trekking, traveling, back packing, hiking, whenever you need a pole to give you more stability while walking.
It is the LEKI Cressida Women’s Trekking Poles.
