Part-Time Order Picking Associate

Due to rapid growth, Backcountry Edge is seeking permanent, Part-Time Order Picking Associates to join our small but motivated warehouse team at our ecommerce distribution center in Manheim (Lancaster County), PA.

These positions have responsibility for picking ordered items from shelving in preparation for shipment, preparing cartons for shipment and stocking shelves. Extended responsibilities may include applying labels to customer shipments in accordance with US Postal and UPS Shipping requirements.

Qualifications

We offer a starting rate of $9.00/hr. with advancement opportunities available. Scheduling is flexible: mainly weekdays, approximately 16-24 hours per week.

On-Call Order Picking Associate

Are you looking to supplement your income by working a day here and there? Backcountry Edge is currently seeking to add an On-Call Order Picking Associate to our small ecommerce distribution center team in Manheim, PA.

This position will have responsibility for picking ordered items from shelving in preparation for shipment, preparing cartons for shipment and stocking shelves.

We offer a starting rate of $9.00/hr with advancement opportunities available. Scheduling will be on an “on-call” basis, typically finalized no later than the day before.  Work hours will be in the range 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The On-Call Associate can expect a varying workweek dependent on the needs of our business.  A month may, for example, include a couple weeks of no hours, a week with two 5-hour days, and a week with three 9-hour days.

Part-Time & Full-Time Associate Gear Specialist

Our company is currently seeking to add full-time and part-time Associate Gear Specialists who will directly support our continued growth.

Located in Manheim (Lancaster County) PA, Backcountry Edge is a premium online and catalog retailer specializing in quality camping, backpacking and trail running equipment and associated outdoor apparel. Our culture is casual and easy-going, yet we operate in a fast-paced, precise and professional manner not commonly found in a small company.

Reporting to the Gear Specialist Supervisor who leads our customer service group, this position is a key part of the team and will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our Amazing Service reputation. Primary duties will include:

  • Providing advice on gear and assisting customers with product selection via phone, email and live chat
  • Entering customer orders
  • Screening and approving website orders for special handling, potential fraud, etc., and taking appropriate follow up actions
  • Providing support for merchandising, purchasing and/or marketing activities
  • Assisting with returns processing
  • Joining exciting projects that enhance our customer proposition and grow our business

Qualifications:

  • Expert-level knowledge of backpacking gear and apparel gained either as an avid enthusiast or through retail sales experience
  • 1+ years customer service or sales experience preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 4-Year degree highly preferred

Not all of our Gear Specialists need to be among our on-camera personalities, but qualified candidates who are interested in potentially adding this dimension to their role will be given the opportunity to screen test during the interview process. We offer a starting rate of $13.50/hr with advancement opportunities available. Scheduling is mainly weekdays, although we are open to creative scheduling (especially including Sundays). Part-timers can expect to work approximately 16-24 hours per week, while full-timers should expect a 40 hour work week.
