Created with input from Karl Meltzer, the 100-mile specialist and holder of the Fastest Known Time on the Appalachian Trail, the Hoka One One Men’s Speedgoat 2 trail running shoe offers technical performance on challenging terrain and support and cushioning for high mileage.
With midsole volume that far exceeds standard running shoes, Hoka One One shoes provide enhanced cushioning and shock absorption. While visually this looks bulky, the performance-enhancing cushioning is actually extremely lightweight. Additionally, a rockered geometry with a low heel-to-toe differential encourages an efficient, rolling stride.
The stitch-free upper delivers comfort and breathability while keeping weight to a minimum. Welded microfiber underlays further promote comfort and support. A midfoot "cage" helps to stabilize your foot and comfortably lock your heel in place. With a 32mm heel and a 27.5mm forefoot, the shoe has a 4.5mm drop.
The durableVibram rubber outsole utilizes 5mm lugs and a trail-specific tread to deliver reliable traction.
The Hoka One One Men’s Speedgoat 2 is available in your choice of colors and men’s full and half sizes.

Real Customer Reviews
- great shoe
Dislikes: Runs a little narrow
- super cushiony
Likes: OMG these are like walking on springs under pillows and the grip from the vibram soles is amazing, I like these a lot
Dislikes: I'm a bit worried the cushioning may start to cause problems for my orthotics down the road, don't get me wrong, they feel great starting out, but because of that I tend to heel strike on downhill descents more than I would normally, and heel striking in to hard plastic orthotic is not fun
- comfortable agile stable WOW
Likes: Excellent grip, generous cushions, durable upper, light weight.
A trail running shoe that shows the tradition and speciality of HOKA
Dislikes: Midsole wears out quickly. string easily dirty and weak
- Great trail shoe with lots of traction and cushioning.
Likes: Nice narrow fit for my feet. Great traction. Very comfortable on rocky trails and good dampening for the downhills.
Dislikes: Its a bit of a give and take. More cushioning is a little less stability. For the sake of my knees I'm more than happy to give up some stability. If you have very weak ankles and very strong knees you might want to try other shoes.
- Excellent running shoes
Likes: Great cushion wile running on trails or treadmill, good fit true size nice construction
Dislikes: Laces could be a little longer, pricey
