Offering easy adjustability to accommodate varying boot sizes, the Hillsound Trail Crampon PRO delivers confident, reliable winter traction. Constructed of heat-treated S50C carbon steel, the 10-point crampon is ideal for glacier travel and icy or snowy approaches.
A simple ratchet buckle binding allows the Trail Crampon PRO to attach securely to a wide array of shoes and hiking boots. With the use of a small wrench (included), the length of the crampon can be adjusted to fine tune fit. A single pull tab makes it extremely easy to tighten and release the binding and an integrated "stopper" prevents unwanted release of the ratchet buckle in deeper snow. An "anti-balling" pad prevents snow from building up beneath the crampon and jeopardizing traction.Sold in pairs, the Hillsound Trail Crampon PRO is sold in Regular and XLarge size options. NOTE: The Trail Crampon PRO is not recommended for mountaineering or climbing use and is only advised for use with stiff-soled boots or footwear with supportive shanks.

Real Customer Reviews
- Good harnesses and feel
Likes: Good harness design straps on snugly and easily. The adjustable shank length uses an Allen key, which some users don't like. Yes, you could easily lose it on the trail, but if you adjust the fit before you head out, the Allen key is unlikely to be req'd.
Dislikes: No dislikes. Waiting for the ice...
- Added traction in the softer stuff!
Likes: Love the longer spikes. Been using Kahtoola microspikes for years, which are just superb for many conditions, but when the snow starts softening up they really don't offer much. Climbed Mount St. Helens the first time out with these Hillsounds, and they bit right in, while folks with microspikes were slipping a fair bit more than me.
These are incredibly easy to put on, as well. And they wear well across ash and pumice. (Not sure they'd be too good on harder, larger rocks.)
Bought the size XL for my size 12-4E Merrell boots, and they fit great!
Dislikes: The need for an allen wrench to adjust length is disconcerting. Should be a tool-free way to this in the field.
These are definitely less pack-friendly than microspikes! (Worth it, though, when needed.)
Still a bit concerned about potential fragility of the ratcheting system, but it did perform flawlessly on first ascent. Will try again tomorrow!
- Good value winter traction
Likes: Can be use on multiple boots
