Likes: The redesign for 2015 made it much warmer, and flexible! Not much is talked about in listing, as far as insulation is concerned. After owning the previous version, I can only say, WOW. With the previous version my palms would get very cold while holding onto anything metal even for short periods. The new version doubles the insulation on the palms, and it is just the right amount to balance dexterity and warmth. The leather reinforcement on the glove has also been changed, and for the better. At first I thought it was a step backward, I was wrong. The old design was, well, stiff. The new version overcomes some of the stiffness while bending your fingers. They are still stiff when new, but, after a few uses they do loosen up considerably. You will want to apply the included nikwax , but wait a few uses to aid in break in. After those couple of uses apply the wax, then re-apply. This way you can get any areas you may have missed on the first pass. Be sure to get ALL the stitching for a complete job. Once this is done, all they need is occasional touch ups. You'll know when and where by the leather getting wet-out during use. Even if you skip the wax, the gloves are still completely waterproof, however they will freeze if they aren't in your sleeping bag making for a cold start to your day. All in all, the new gloves are definitely an improvement over previous versions. If you are on the fence with these, buy them. You'll be happy you did.
Dislikes: Stiff when new. With all the insulation in these gloves don't expect a great deal of dexterity, warmth, and longevity, do come at a price. The issues are far outweighed by the warmth the new gloves provide.
