Striking a balance between weight and durability, the
high-performance Gregory Z55 internal frame backpack employs lightweight,
high-tenacity fabrics and an innovative, streamlined suspension system.

Striking a balance between weight and durability, the high-performance Gregory Z55 internal frame backpack employs lightweight, high-tenacity fabrics and an innovative, streamlined suspension system to provide load-carrying capability without the bulk and burden of a full-blown expedition pack.

Well aware of the problems that arise from ill-fitting backpacks, Gregory is committed to providing fit, comfort and load-carrying capability. This commitment is evident in the technology used in the Z55's harness and CrossFlo suspension system. A lightweight wire X-Frame and a trampoline-style backpanel work in tandem to support the stability of the Z55 by distributing weight evenly and transferring the load to the lumbar pad and waist belt. Die-cut foam on the harness and waist belt adds breathability and decreases weight. The ventilated moisture wicking harnesses, waistbelt and backpanel enhance fit, aid in load transfer, provide cushioning and keep you cool on the trail. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps further enhance the fit of the Z55 and ensure the stability of your load, allowing convenient on-the-go adjustment.

The single main compartment of the Z55 has an extendible drawstring-closed top entry, and a U-shape zippered entry allows full front access to the pack body. A large zippered front pocket provides a secure place to secure additional gear and a huge "bucket" pocket with mesh sides offers convenient storage for gear or wet clothes. The Z55's floating lid includes an integrated stowaway pocket. All of the zippers used on the Z55 are designed to be weather resistant.

The Z55 also includes side and bottom compression straps, quick-access waistbelt pockets, two exterior stretch water bottle pockets and hideaway gear loops. An integrated sleeve and exit port make the Z55 compatible with a hydration system (sold separately). A color-matched rain cover is also integrated.

Available in your choice of color options, the Gregory Z55 backpack is available in Small (3242 cubic inch capacity), Medium (3356 cu in) and Large (3478 cu in) size options.

Great bag, but not for me

Likes: This bag was fairly comfortable but I could never get it to fit well. I liked the options and adjustability though!

Dislikes: Interesting frame design, and felt like it pulled me backwards

Likes: This pack is great! It's very comfortable and has plenty of room to spend a good amount of time out in the backcountry. It may not be the lightest pack but it's not heavy either and since it has good durability from solid materials I'm not complaining about a few extra ounces. Pus it comes with a color matched rain cover that really comes in handy on the rainy days and nights.

Dislikes: Nothing yet
