Real Customer Reviews
- Great organization, almost every conceivable feature is present
Likes: Top quality, lightweight materials yet solid aluminum frame that bears weight well. Breathable mesh back with minimal contact to keep you cool. Includes a rain cover. No-slip sternum strap system. Nice right-side, concealed zipper pocket large enough for the largest phones or other commonly concealed items. Deep side pockets that won't overly stretch. Main compartment access. Large front pocket. Highest quality zippers with pulls that work with gloves. Cool hydration sleeve and stays for bladder.Clip for hose on shoulder strap. Lots of 'cool' points on this pack; very smart.
Dislikes: Very little. My bony hips make it challenging to find the right adjustment to fit in the 3D hip belt. If the 'camp' compartment is stuffed full, the large area, front 'day' pocket is reduced a bit. The concealed pocket is the only place to store a cell phone. Very small hip belt pocket.
- Good pack
Likes: The multitude of compartments allow for some serious organizing. When packed out at 40 pounds, the pack is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The pack also keeps things dry in minor rain fall without even using the rain cover included in the bottom.
Dislikes: The pack loses quite a bit of comfort at 45 pounds. Some of the compartments become difficult to use when pack is full. Access the pack and learning how to use it may take longer than most other packs. Especially when finding the right things to pack in some of the smaller easier to access pockets.
Likes: I stuffed the Contour with ~30lbs of weight and hauled it around the house doing chores/walking/what not, very comfy with the suspension system that Gregory was boasting about in the demo video.
I have not had the chance to make full use of the 3-tier compartment system that is also a key feature in this pack, but I'm sure it is as convenient as expected.
I'm glad I decided to purchase this over my R(black)I Flash50. Worth the extra money and weight to have a pack that fits you comfy, snug over a long haul.
LAso bought a Osprey Hydraulics 2L and it fits like a glove.
Dislikes: Color not a Dark Grey as the stock image appears to be.
Hip pockets are tapered of in a hexagonal shape. Not big enough to fit normal items such as (plural) snacks, quick access items, camera..again, not big enough for mutiple items or mid-hand sized items :(
Likes: The trail smart packing system is extremely nice. Very easy to separate your gear for quick access. The hydration sleeve is also accessible from outside the pack. However, do not attempt to load your pack first and then think you can easily insert a water bladder. The suspension system is very comfortable and moves with you. The included rain cover is also very nice as I took this pack to Cheaha Mountain for a two nighter and had to hike out in the rain. Overall, this is a well thought out pack (as expected from Gregory) and it does not disappoint.
Dislikes: The compression straps can be annoying. You must undo the straps to easily access almost all main compartments. Minor annoyance.
