The Granite Gear Nimbus Trace Access 60 offers load-carrying capacity (4820+ cubic inches) and organizational features while still weighing less than you'd expect of a heavy-hauler. An excellent balance of weight and performance, the pack comfortably carries loads of up to 60 pounds while weighing roughly 4 pounds.
Made of a reinforced composite material, the Nimbus Trace Access 60's 3D Topoflex framesheet is ready-made for heavy hauling. The streamlined, contoured framesheet balances rigid support with flexible response, allowing the Nimbus Trace Access 70 to mimic the way the back naturally flexes and move with you while keeping your load balanced and secure. A pivoting, cushioned hipbelt helps to further balance the weight of the pack without limiting mobility. The Advection backpanel is strategically padded to provide cushioning and comfort while allowing for heat transfer and breathability. Adjustable padded shoulder straps, an adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps combine to further optimize fit.
To guarantee that the Nimbus Trace Access 60 fits like a glove, Granite Gear offers swappable hipbelts and shoulder harnesses. The Small hipbelt fits waists measuring 26" to 30", the Medium hipbelt fits waists measuring 30" to 34" and the Large hipbelt fits waists measuring 34" to 38". The appropriate shoulder harness size is based on the girth measurement of your chest. The Small harness fits chest sizes ranging from 27" to 34", the Medium harness fits chest sizes ranging from 34" to 40" and the Large harness fits chest sizes ranging from 40" to 46".
The Regular torso size of the Nimbus Trace Access 60 has 3661 cubic inches of storage capacity and the Short torso size offers 3295 cubic inches. Lending extreme versatility, a well-designed external and internal compression strap system allows you to securely cinch down gear. Underneath a floating and removable lid, an extendible spindrift collar protects the interior of the Nimbus Trace Access 60's massive main compartment. The collar rolls down and cinches closed while overlapping, integrated buckles strap down to accommodate loads of varying sizes. When removed from the Nimbus Trace Access 60, the lid converts into a streamlined hip pack for day hiking and summit assaults.
A large vertical mesh pocket on the front of the packbag offers voluminous storage for clothes or other gear. On either side of this pocket are the dual zippers that allow for the quick front access to the packbag that gives the Nimbus Trace Access 60 its name. Two large stretch mesh pockets on either side of the pack safely stow water bottles and two zippered stretch mesh pockets higher on the packbag keep essentials handy and aid in load organization outside the main compartment. A built-in tube exit port and a narrow lined internal pocket make the Nimbus Trace Access 60 compatible with hydration systems (sold separately). The external compression system, various tool loops and reflective daisy-chain shoulder attachment points provide numerous places to lash additional gear to the outside of the pack.
Constructed of high tenacity 100D and 210D Nylon Cordura, the Granite Gear Nimbus Trace Access 60 is available in your choice of colors and torso length sizes.

Likes: Some reviewers complain about straps, but they are there for a reason. Learn how to deal with them and use them for their intended purpose: cinching your load snugly together so you are more stable and your load is evenly distributed as you walk. Very durable fabric, quality zippers, great color (mine was blue) and will hold my 3 liter camelbak reservoir. The maple board used to stiffen the pack over your hips is fantastic; very stiff but lightweight. Great padding in the lumbar region. Once this is strapped on and cinched up with the waist belt and shoulder straps I instantly felt the load transfer to my hips. Very comfy. I knew right away that when I was able to order different size waist belts and should straps, that this bag was for me. I'm 5'10 225 lbs with a muscular build. I ordered the regular length for torso and large waist and shoulder straps. Perfect!
