Named for the active outdoor town of Bend, Oregon and featuring full top-to-toe cushioning along the instep and up the leg, the medium-weight, crew-height Farm to Feet Women’s Bend hiking sock delivers warm, durable comfort with a touch of style.
We are taking a closer look at the Women’s Farm to Feet Bend Socks. These socks are named after the town Bend, Oregon. And they are a midweight, mid cushion, Merino wool sock. Merino wool is very soft. It feels nice on the skin. It is naturally odor resistant and it is very durable.
These socks are made with about 76 percent Merino wool. To give a little bit of shape and a little bit of stretch, there is 23 percent US made nylon and there is one percent US made spandex.
Something very interesting about Farm to Feet is they source their wool 100 percent from American farmers and sheep that are raised on American farms. So they are definitely committed to, you know, keeping the sourcing in the United States and they are a very, very high quality, well made sock.
These are a crew length sock, so if you are wearing hiking boots or back packing boots that come up a little bit higher, you are definitely going to have enough clearance. They come up to kind of your lower calf. So, you know, they are definitely going to protect you there. And because they are made for hiking and back packing, there is a lot of features here that are, you know, hard to see when you are just looking at a sock, but you have got compression around the top of your foot and around the arch of your foot. So all the way around. That is just going to provide support throughout the day and it is also going to help from the sock kind of riding down.
There is advanced technologies with the way they knit these socks. And so if you look at the toe box here, there is almost a seamless construction from, you know, the top of your foot into the toe box, which provides a lot more durability and it also cuts down on hot spots and on chafing so you are not going to worry about blisters with these socks.
The fit of these are really, really nice. Like I said, you have a little bit of compression there so they fit really well. But I wear a women’s US eight and a half and in Farm to Feet I wear size medium. So it is going to fit somewhere between a seven and a half to a nine and a half. If you are right on the edge of the different sizes, I recommend sizing down just so you have a tight fit and you don’t have any bunchiness going on in your sock. But other than that, these are really comfortable, really well made, very good quality sock.
