A classic option for skiing or alpine climbing, Outdoor Research Extravert Gloves offer lightweight wind protection, water-resistance, and dexterity. The combination of nylon, spandex, and leather give the glove excellent fit and durability.
For any activity from skiing to ice climbing to splitting wood for the fire, the Outdoor Research Extrovert Gloves are an excellent option that will keep you nice and toasty warm. Let’s take a look at some of their features.
These gloves are constructed with 90 percent nylon, 10 percent spandex stretch twill laminated fabric. So you have got nice durable materials on the exterior of the gloves, give it a really good water and wind resistance. While not being fully waterproof, they do offer good protection from the elements. The palms of the glove are a nice goat leather, so you have got really soft, supple and tactile leather there that offers really good durability, long life for the gloves. We do have a wool blend lining on the inside, so it is 40 percent wool and 60 percent acrylic and polyester mix. So you have got really soft and warm against that skin, quick drying materials and they wick moisture very, very well. So you do have a little bit of warmth on the inside of the glove while not being fully insulated to offer better dexterity, it does give warmth and good weather protection.
Some of the features on the outside of the glove include a carabineer clip on the middle finger of either glove, so you can easily clip these to a harness or to a backpack if you are out and about in the backcountry. We have got really nice kind of gusseted construction, so you have got easy movement for the hand. You can very easily grip things and use your hands in a very easy manner that doesn’t fatigue you throughout the day. We do have a hook and loop closure around the wrist of the glove. So you have got really good attachment there, will allow it to cinch down and get a proper fit. We do have a glove clip there so you can clip the gloves together pretty easily, so if you drop them you don't just drop one, but they are both clipped together, so you make sure you hang on to them at all times.
We also have a nice pull loop on the inside of the glove. It is really going to allow you to yank the gloves on, get a nice, tight and snug fit when you are putting the gloves on, so very nice features on the exterior of the glove, stay pretty simple as well.
Another nice feature on the glove is each thumb has a nice soft nose wipe, so additional bonus to the glove there.
The fit of these gloves is really nice. It is fairly snug. They are precurved, so you get that precurved construction, again, to reduce fatigue over a long day. And they have actually got anatomically stitched fingers so the fingers are really easy to manipulate, really easy to move, gives it really good dexterity throughout the glove. So excellent features there, that goat leather palm gives really nice durability and construction and you have got really good grip with the gloves as well. So I really like the fit, really like the way that the fingers are designed. It gives a really good easy feel.
And there you have it. Where you need great movement, dexterity, some weather protection as well as a little bit of warmth, the Outdoor Research Extrovert Gloves are a great option for any of those backcountry activities.
