Balancing warmth, weight, and price, the inflatable Exped SynMat WinterLite employs synthetic insulation to achieve a 4-season worthy R-value of 4.9 that makes it an ideal option for year-round backpackers, campers, and alpinists.
The SynMat WinterLite employs innovative I-beam baffles to provide 3.5” of comfortable support. A warm layer of synthetic insulation laminated directly to the bottom and top of each baffled air chamber eliminates cold spots and equips the pad for year-round performance. Tapered shaping helps to save on weight and also enables two of the pads to be situated next to each other for gap-free pairing.
Glues used in sleeping pad construction are often broken down by moisture, but Exped's proprietary fabric lamination process creates air tight baffles and prevents moisture build up in the pad from destroying these glues, resulting in no loss of air over time. The SynMat WinterLite features a single FlatValve for inflation and deflation. Many inflatable sleeping pads fail due to their valve construction, but Exped's FlatValve technology eliminates the stiff edge commonly found around traditional valves. This results in lasting, durable valve construction for the life of the pad.
The Exped SynMat WinterLite sleeping pad is available in Medium (72” x 20.5"), Medium/Wide (72" x 25.6") and Long/Wide (77.6" x 25.6") lengths. Each pad includes a stuff sack and a repair kit.

Real Customer Reviews
- Fantastic product
Likes: This is less than half the weight of my downmat 7 and 2 cm thicker with only a slight loss of r-value. It's not too slippery and doesn't make a lot of noise. The first time you fill up a sleeping pad with the exped pump bag (not included) your life will be changed forever. Hint: find a spot where you can hold the opening of the bag to the wind.
Dislikes: There is no insulation in the ouside baffles, which are several inches wide combined. This is noticeable but not as bad as I thought it might be. I took it below freezing with a midweight baselayer and a 20 degree quilt and was fine. I would avoid the regular width unless you are very thin or don't mind your arms hanging off the sides. I have heard about, but not experienced, the baffles coming unglued. I plan to keep mine indoors and away from extreme temperatures.
