Weighing less than a pound and packing down small, the inflatable Exped SynMat HyperLite sleeping pad is a warm, incredibly lightweight option for 3-season backpacking, camping, or mountaineering.
The SynMat HyperLite employs innovative I-beam baffles to provide 2.8” of comfortable support. A warm layer of synthetic insulation laminated directly to the bottom and top of each baffled air chamber eliminates cold spots and equips the pad for year-round performance. Tapered shaping helps to save on weight and also enables two of the pads to be situated next to each other for gap-free pairing.
Glues used in sleeping pad construction are often broken down by moisture, but Exped's proprietary fabric lamination process creates air tight baffles and prevents moisture build up in the pad from destroying these glues, resulting in no loss of air over time. The SynMat HyperLite features a single FlatValve for inflation and deflation. Many inflatable sleeping pads fail due to their valve construction, but Exped's FlatValve technology eliminates the stiff edge commonly found around traditional valves. This results in lasting, durable valve construction for the life of the pad.
The Exped SynMat HyperLite sleeping pad is available in Medium (72” x 20.5"), Medium/Wide (72" x 25.6") and Long/Wide (77.6" x 25.6") lengths. Each pad includes a stuff sack and a repair kit.

Real Customer Reviews
- Good product, comfortable.
Likes: I have used this pad several times borrowed from a friend and finally decided to purchase one for myself, I really like this pad, would say for the size and weight it is easily the best lightweight pad out there. It isn't quite as noisy to sleep on as other lightweight pads ether.
Dislikes: Not quite as comfortable as heavier pads.
- Lite and comfortable
Likes: Lite, comfortable and easy to inflate. The flat valve a is great design which is durable and efficiently transfers air. I bought this as a lighter weight alternative to the Synmat 7 that I have which has been excellent. I will still use the Synmat 7 for car camping and use the Hypetlite for lightweight backpacking.
Dislikes: Obviously it's a little narrower below the shoulders but that is a minor compromise to have a mat that only weights 12oz.
