The Exped MegaMat Lite 12 sleeping pad offers maximum comfort at less weight and greater packability than traditional plush camping mattresses. Warm synthetic insulation grants the pad a 4-season worthy 5.3 R-value.

When fully inflated, the pad has a full 4.7" thickness. While it does need to be blown up, the included Exped Schnozzel Pumpbag UL makes the job a cinch and also prevents potentially destructive moisture from being introduced to the interior of the pad during inflation. The pumpbag also serves as a waterproof stuff sack. Unique flat valve construction aids in inflation and deflation by allowing a high volume of airflow in and out of the pad. A one-way design keeps air from escaping during inflation. High-frequency welded seams and strong lamination provide reliable durability and 3-D construction creates vertical sidewalls that offer amazing comfort.

The Exped MegaMat Lite 12 is available in your choice of colors and Medium (72" x 20.5"), Medium/Wide (72" x 25.6"), and Long/Wide (77.6" x 25.6") size options.

  • Ultra-thick 12 cm for maximum comfort, evens out rocky ground
  • Innovative 3-D construction for edge-to-edge sleeping surface
  • Cozy brushed tricot top
  • Extra large deflation valve
  • Schnozzel Pumpbag UL included and doubles as waterproof stuffsack
  • Light enough for backpacking trips
  • Fits in many cars and camper vans
  • 5-year warranty

Nice camping mattress

Likes: We got the Megamat Lite 12 to compare to the Synmat 3-D 7 for backpacking with back problems. The Megamat was fine, but didn't offer benefits over the 3-D 7 that made the added cost, weight and size worth it.

An excellent compromise of comfort and packed size
Reviewed by Qwerty - December 13, 2018

Likes: Superb build quality, tasteful design, and great use of materials. An overwhelming feeling of quality as with any Exped product I've experienced.

Dislikes: While it's extraordinarily comfortable and very close, it's simply not as comfortable as the original Exped Megamat – particularly for side sleepers and larger people. It's tough to pinpoint what exactly is different regarding comfort. I'd say it's just as supportive but not as plush and luxurious in that support.

The pump bag is a good design but it can be unwieldy in some situations such as camping in a car or a small tent. The medium size is too small for me but I'm a larger person so it may be different for you. MW and larger is perfect.

WOW - What a night!
Reviewed by Brian W. - October 19, 2018

Likes: This mat is EXTRAORDINARY! I wish I had bought this years ago! It is like sleeping on a bed in the woods. I did not roll off this mat one time in 4 nights. I did not have to re-inflate; no leaking at all. Insulation was good (elk hunt above 10k). Pack size was no issue. Absolute dream.

Dislikes: None. It's a little pricey, but WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Best Sleep I have had on a Backpacking Trip
Reviewed by Chad L. - September 5, 2018

Likes: Comfort and Easy to inflate / deflate
had the best night of sleep on a 9 day backpacking trip in CO. For me its worth the extra oz for the rest i got. could have stayed 9 more on this thing. well worth it if you're willing to add a few more oz to the pack

Dislikes: Wieght but i knew that going into the purchase

Not Comparable to Megamat 10 in Comfort
Reviewed by Wenderz - April 8, 2018

Likes: This was Exped's attempt to create a lighter version of their megamat, which was what sold me. It's comfortable but not luxury like the Megamat 10.

Dislikes: Since it's fully air filled and at 4.7" high it "rattles" slightly if you move on it. I got the 20.5" wide version and that's too narrow for me and I'm pretty small at 5' and 100 lbs. I kept waking up in the middle of the night my foot would tip over it.
