The self-inflating Exped MegaMat 10 sleeping pad delivers luxurious camping comfort in any season. Because of its 3.9"-thick foam block core it has an incredibly warm R-value of 9.5 which makes it suitable for use in temperatures as low as -54 degrees Fahrenheit!
The mattress’s open-cell foam core provides a luxurious sleeping base and makes inflation easy. When you unroll the mattress and open the inflate valve the foam responds by soaking up air similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Once the mattress has inflated you can use the Exped Minipump (included) your mouth or other Exped pump accessories (sold separately) to top off inflation for a firm sleeping surface or let some air out for a softer mattress. Brushed polyester fabric on the pad’s surface provides slip-resistance and next-to-skin comfort. High-frequency welded seams and strong lamination provide reliable durability. The unique 3-D creates vertical sidewalls that enhance comfort.
Glues used in sleeping pad construction are often broken down by moisture but Exped's proprietary fabric lamination process creates airtight baffles and prevents potentially destructive moisture and bacteria from building up in the pad and destroying the glues.
Many inflatable sleeping pads fail due to their valve construction but Exped's FlatValve technology eliminates the stiff edge commonly found around traditional valves. This results in lasting durable valve construction for the life of the pad.

Real Customer Reviews
- Better than sleeping at home
Likes: This mat is more comfortable than my $1600 mattress at home. Easy to deflate, seems durable.
Dislikes: Gotta keep track of the pump. A bit bulky, but worth it for car or canoe camping, or even a short backpacking trip if you don't want to rough it.
- Hard not to love this mat
Likes: So comfortable for a great nights sleep.
This mat is bulky but so is carrying a closed cell and air mat combo. I will try this mat this winter in place of my combo mat system. I am sure this mat will perform well.
- Very comfortable
Likes: Comfort, durability, ease of inflation
Dislikes: Size and bulkiness when deflated but I bought it for a tear drop camper and not for backpacking so not a big deal.
