If you are the type of ounce-counting backpacker who hasn't been able to justify carrying a pillow in your pack, the ergonomic Exped Air Pillow UL may change your mind. Even the Large size of the pillow weighs just 2.8 ounces and takes up hardly any space in your pack.
A low-profile FlatValve makes it easy to inflate the Air Pillow UL to its full dimensions and just as easy to return it to its packed size. Ergonomic styling accommodates varying head positions. Reinforced loops along the backside of the pillow allow you to secure the Air Pillow UL to your Exped sleeping pad (sold separately) and a small stuff sack is included for storage.
The Exped Air Pillow is available in two sizes. The Medium pillow weighs just 1.8 ounces and has fully inflated dimensions of 15" x 10.6" x 4.3". The Large size measures 20.5" x 13.4" x 5.1" when inflated.

- Super lightweight and packable
Likes: This pillow is super lightweight and extremely packable. Easy to deflate as well.
- Perfect size and weight for backpacking.
Likes: Perfect size and height. Lightweight and stows in a very small size.
Likes: Light and easy to set up
Dislikes: Not too easy de-flate. Need to use more. maybe get use to it.
Likes: This is a great large size pillow - and probably the best large size pillow in the hiking industry market.
As a side sleeper I do wish it was a bit higher in overall height but it is just about perfect for back sleepers.
It has little tabs on both sides (left/right) so you can attach a cord around the bottom of your sleeping pad.
Easily inflates with just a few breaths. Uses the flat closure system that Exped uses that I find to be overbuilt and overtly heavy, but it makes for nothing sticking out and poking you in the eye or the back all night long.
Dislikes: The price tag. If you figure this pillow is 1/5th the size of a standard Exped air pad, yet over 50% more expensive, it just makes no sense. They are abusing the market price I tend to believe. It is for this reason I deducted one star from the overall rating. If it was priced at the $30 dollar range, it would be a full five star rating. I hate do manipulate ratings based on the MSRP of a product, but Exped has this item priced in a manner that is not consistent with its size nor other air pillows on the market.
Likes: Lightweight, makes for a comfy night..
Likes: Incredible comfort..light weight and packs very small
Likes: As a person that has some neck issues, this pillow supports my neck and head superbly.Very easy to blow up and can adjust comfort with the amount of air.I will use a small pillowcase.DEFINATELY go with the large. It fits in the palm of your hand when rolled up and weighs nothing.
Dislikes: This thing is crazy expensive for an air pillow. But compared to a trip to the chiropractor after sleeping on rolled up clothes in a stuff sack,i'd gladly pay the price
Likes: light weight, 2 breaths and inflated, nice size
