Backcountry Edge Exclusive: FREE rain cover included! The Deuter Aircontact Lite 65+10 pack offers ample storage capacity and carrying comfort at just 4 pounds, 6 ounces, making it ideal for multi-day and extended backpacking trips.
Built on the concept that it's easier to carry heavy loads when the backpack and wearer form a single entity, Deuter's Aircontact Lite back system relies on the compression and expansion of hydro and thermo-phobic foam to provide ventilation and load-carrying comfort. A continuous air channel along the spine of the pack allows warm air to escape and permits cool air to funnel between your back and the body of the pack. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, contoured shoulder straps, and hipbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. An anatomically-profiled aluminum X-frame system offers a balance of rigidity and flexibility, effectively distributing weight. Further enhancing fit, Deuter's Vari-Quick harness system adjusts easily to provide optimal comfort and load distribution for torso length sizes ranging from 15"-21" in length. Side compression straps enable you to cinch down the pack body to secure contents and stabilize your load.
The pack has a large top-loading main compartment and a lower front-accessed sleeping bag compartment. A zippered divider between the two allows for organization and separation of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two, you can unzip the divider and convert the packbag to a single, large compartment. The pack's extendible lid houses dual pockets with secure, zippered entries.
Other special features include ice axe/trekking pole loops, gear attachment rings on the lid, zippered hipbelt pockets, mesh side pockets, and a large, elastic front stash pocket. A lined internal pocket and a built-in tube exit point make the pack hydration system compatible (system sold separately).
The Deuter Aircontact Lite 65+10 internal frame backpack is available in your choice of color options.

- Great backpack
Likes: Well-designed, solid construction, plenty of room, tons of expansion capacity, stylish, the free rain cover is a sweet BackCountryEdge bonus.
Dislikes: Shoulder straps could be a little more padded.
- Great pack for loads up to 40 lbs
Likes: I really like this pack for its quality and overall design. It has everything I need in terms of pockets and storage. It's clearly a durable pack made with strong materials. The sleeping bag compartment is large and the zippered divider is nice. The pack was extremely comfortable up to 40 pounds. Unfortunately my winter setup is around 50 pounds. The shoulder straps simply weren't bulky enough and it was not comfortable around the shoulders at that weight. I really wanted it to be comfortable and really wanted to keep this pack but needed a more robust pack for heavier loads around 50 lbs. I will likely pick up the 50 + 10 size for my spring/summer set up as the load will be lighter.
Dislikes: Straps are not bulky enough and dig into shoulders with heavier load.
- super backpack
Likes: comfortable, fits really well, it is huge, I tried the gregory, exped, atmos ag65 and this was the most comfortable for me
- Great pack with a great price, but does not have some of the features that the more expensive bags have
Likes: Large volume, many pockets and features
Dislikes: Could have better padding on the shoulder straps
- Great Backpack
Likes: Very adjustable, I'm about 5'5" and I was able to adjust the shoulder straps for a great fit. The pack is very light and inexpensive compared to other brands and the quality is excellent. I hiked about 20 miles with this pack for its maiden voyage and once I got the straps dialed in it was pretty comfortable for a heave pack. I easily fit 5 days of food, tent/sleeping bag, clothes, and 20 lbs of climbing gear into the pack and had some room to spare. It pairs well with the Deuter hydration system and the free rain cover works well! I would recommend this pack to anyone.
Dislikes: I rubbed some parts of my hips and back raw but this was the first time I used the pack. It took me an hour or two to figure out how to get all the straps dialed in so that allowed the pack to shift a bit but once I got them adjusted correctly it was much better, so it was mainly user error.
Dislikes: Not comfortable.
- FANTASTIC pack for longer hikes
Likes: I went back and forth forever before finally deciding on this pack for my multi-night hiking trips, and I'm glad I went with this gem. First, it's highly customizable, which is key with any pack you'll be wearing for hours on end. Second, it has tons of storage, and I love the compartment option for my tent/sleeping bag. It's pretty lightweight too, and the free included rain cover was just added value (and also really nice to have). I know I'll be using this pack for many, many years to come. Next stop--the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Dislikes: None so far
- If you are looking for an adjustable pack that can hold a lot of weight while utilizing a lightweight frame, this one is for you. I am 6 ft, 150 lbs and had no problems distributing the weight on my back with all the different cinch straps.
Likes: -Front-loading compartment is HUGE and fits my sleeping bag, pad and pillow when compressed.
-hip strap pockets are great and breathable. If you spill something inside, it will dry up fast.
-having a detachable brain is great for backpacking trips with a lot of day hikes. You can also save even more weight by leaving it at home for shorter trips.
Dislikes: My biggest gripe is the shoulder strap padding. Although I am a fit person, I don't have much body fat or muscle on the top of my shoulders. If you're like me, this pack may make your shoulders sore when fully loaded with a bear canister and other gear. That being said, this a lightweight pack after all and you shouldn't expect all the comforts of a heavier pack to carry over. If ample padding is extremely important to you, you are better off with the normal Aircontact,
- I absolutely love this pack!! Very spacious and comfortable.
Likes: I’ve tried other Osprey and Gregory packs but this Deuter pack has everything I wanted but for a much cheaper price. After just feeling the material that it’s made out of you can tell it’s top quality and all the stitching is well done. On a side note I like to be somewhat fashionable and I love the color of my pack(navy/arctic). I’m 5’11” and 175lbs. and this pack fits me perfectly. One of its best features is the adjustment system on it that lets me tune it into the perfect fit for my body. You can read in the description of it, so I don’t have to list every single feature of it but some of the ones that I really like are the big hip belt pockets, the deep side mesh pockets, and the spacious sleeping bag compartment. To give you reference on the size of the hip belt pockets, I can easily fit my Google Pixel 2 phone inside it, so I would say most standard sized smart phones should fit inside it. As for the deep side mesh pockets, I love that on this model Deuter put the compression strap inside the pocket instead of going around the outside of it. This was a problem with my last pack and it made the side pocket almost unusable because the compression strap would close the pocket up and then I can’t use it for my water bottle or anything else that I need easy access too. Inside the bag you’ll find that it is very spacious altogether and felt like it had more room than other packs I’ve tried out. I feel like I have amble storage space within it and I never feel like I won’t have enough room, even if I really needed to take a lot of gear this bag can hold it. This pack does everything that the other popular brands can do but for a cheaper price. Some people like the anti-gravity suspension on other packs but I didn’t really care for them and I felt that this one was more comfortable for me body shape. After hiking with 32 pounds over 20 miles with it, I can say that I really do love this pack! I used to use a cheap pack off of Amazon and that would kill my shoulders but with this pack I have very little issue with shoulder pain which was a blessing for my collar bone. Overall it’s a very comfortable pack that can carry pounds into the mid-30’s with ease. I would recommend it to anybody and I just can’t stress enough how much I’ve fallen in love with this pack! As a side note, the deciding factor for me to buy this pack from this site is that no other site comes with the free rain cover for it. That’s a $35 rain cover for free throw in! Can’t beat that!
Dislikes: I don’t have too many dislikes for this pack. It does everything I need and want it to do already! The one thing I don’t like with the pack is I wish it had just a tad bit more padding on the shoulder straps. Just a bit more padding there would have me rank this pack at a 10/10 on comfort instead of a 9/10. Everybody has their own wants and needs on a pack, but this covers all the bases for me. I’m not a thru hiker but I like to take 3-4 day trips and this pack works perfectly for me and it has enough space that if I want to go on a longer hike I have plenty of room to store any extra gear or food I may need for the longer hauls. Other than that, this pack for me personally has all the bells and whistles that I could want and stows all my gear comfortably inside. It doesn’t lack much in the accessories department so overall my only complaint is just that I wish they added a bit more padding to the shoulder strap.
