Combining load-bearing capability, convenient access features and a streamlined profile, the high-performance Deuter ACT Trail 38 EL day pack caters to hikers with long torsos (up to 24" in length). Numerous external pockets and lash points grant backcountry versatility to the pack.

The ACT Trail 38 EL's Aircontact suspension system relies on the compression and expansion of twin foam columns to provide ventilation and load-carrying comfort. The channel between the two pads allows air to flow between your back and the pack itself. A flexible, tensioned Delrin frame offers lightweight support and stability. The 20"-24" torso fit range caters to hikers who often find other packs to be ill-fitting. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the shoulder straps and hipbelt help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. A sternum strap and adjustable load-lifter straps further enhance fit. Side compression straps enable you to reduce and expand the size of the pack body as needed, further securing contents and ensuring stabilization of the load.

A buckled lid allows top access to the ACT Trail 38 EL's 2320 cubic inch packbag. Further ensuring your ability to quickly reach the contents of your pack, a large zippered entry offers full front access to the packbag. A large elastic front stash pocket is ideal for stashing extra layers and is expandable enough to even accommodate a helmet. A side mesh pocket on one side of the pack and a zippered pocket on the alternate side offer additional storage space.

Other special features of the ACT Trail 38 EL pack include trekking pole loops, a hipbelt pocket and an integrated SOS panel. A lined internal pocket and a built-in tube exit point make the pack hydration compatible.

Great Pack

Likes: A year ago I broke my back in a mountain bike crash. I had another day pack, from another great company, but the waist belt was not as supportive. This pack is comfortable on warm hikes, took the weight on my hips and not on my spine, the waist belt held tightly, and storage and access are great.
And it has a raincover.
Now I have a number of other day packs I have to sell as don't need them any more.
By the way, great service from Backcountry Edge; I needed this pack quickly, it arrive promptly, just as they promised.

Dislikes: None

Versatile backpack

Likes: I purchased this backpack for travel and backpacking. It fits more than enough clothes and other essentials but I had to make sure I had room for all my backpacking stuff as well. It can definitely fit everything for backpacking as well. I can fit my 0℉ sleeping bag, inflatable sleeping pad, UL tent, about 5 days of food depending on what I bring, a minimalist cooking set, and my dslr camera. I strap my tripod to the outside.

Dislikes: My only dislike is that it doesn't have a mesh pocket for wet raingear and stuff. It does have a stretchy pocket on the front but it's not as breathable as mesh.
