The lightweight Deuter ACT Trail 28 SL Women's day pack combines load-bearing capability, convenient access features and a streamlined profile. Numerous external pockets and lash points grant excellent versatility to the pack.
As women's backs are not, on average, as long or broad as men's backs, the SL carry system is slightly shorter than that of Deuter's standard backpacks. The hipbelt has been given a more conical shape to provide a proper anatomical fit. The shoulder straps of the SL packs have been set closer together, are narrower and shorter in length. The SL pack is equipped with smaller buckles and narrower tapered strap ends to prevent chafing under the arms and eliminate pressure points in the chest area.
The pack's Aircontact Trail suspension system relies on the compression and expansion of twin foam columns to provide ventilation and load-carrying comfort. The channel between the two pads allows air to flow between your back and the pack itself. A flexible, tensioned Delrin frame offers lightweight support and stability. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the shoulder straps and lumbar area help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. Broad mesh hipbelt fins help to stabilize load distribution, provide maximum ventilation, and can be stowed away entirely if you are using a climbing harness or traveling light enough to not need the extra support. A sternum strap and adjustable load-lifter straps further enhance fit. Side compression straps enable you to reduce and expand the size of the pack body as needed, securing contents and ensuring load stabilization.
A buckled lid allows top access to the 1708 cubic inch packbag. Allowing you put hands on clothes or gear without removing the lid, a large zippered entry on the front of the ACT Trail 28 SL Women's pack offers full front accessibility. A zippered front stash pocket lets you stow essentials. A mesh pocket on one side of the pack and a zippered pocket on the alternate side offer additional storage options.
Other special features include trekking pole loops, an integrated SOS panel, and an included rain cover. A lined internal pocket and a built-in tube exit point make the ACT Trail 28 SL Women's pack hydration system (not included) compatible.

Real Customer Reviews
- I like it despite some flaws
Likes: I like the look of this bag. That may seem shallow but it's true. The color, the style, the compartments and where they are placed, I like that the trekking pole attachments are both on one side of the pack. The access to the main compartment is great and the back support is really comfortable. I also think the hip belt is extremely comfortable, though I wish it had pockets.
Dislikes: There are 3 big drawbacks to this pack, in my opinion. First, I really wish there were pockets on the hip belt. It is so convenient to be able to reach for your phone or a snack without having to stop. Secondly I see in older models this pack had a stretchy stow pocket where you could put wet clothes, etc. and I really wish that was still included. The third thing is that stretchy water bottle holder on one side of the pack- it is way too shallow. I am constantly worried my water bottle is going to fall out (though to be fair, it hasn't yet).
