Employing lightweight, lofty 650+ goose down nsulation and water-resistent Pertex Endurance fabrics, the Outdoor Research Virtuoso Hoody keeps cold temperatures and wet weather at bay.
Extreme cold weather and howling winds have met their match with the Outdoor Research Virtuoso Hoody. Lightweight, lofty 650+ goose down insulation combine with Pertex Endurance fabrics to keep cold temperatures and wet weather at bay.
A combination of lightweight, 30D ripstop fabrics throughout the body and durable, waterproof/breathable fabric across the shoulders and arms makes the Virtuoso Hoody weatherproof and warm but still compressible enough to take with you on any winter backpack or multi-day ski tour. A fully adjustable hood and a double separating front zipper with an internal storm flap help seal out nasty weather.
Renowned for their compressible properties and efficiency in providing insulation, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. Though down fill is susceptible to the effects of moisture, the Virtuoso Hoody’s water-resistant/breathable Pertex and polyester ripstop fabrics protect the down insulation and combat this risk.
The Virtuoso Hoody boasts six pockets: one zippered Napoleon chest pocket, two zippered handwarmer pockets, one internal zippered pocket and two internal shove-it pockets for larger items like snack bars and fuel canisters. The right hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack for the Virtuoso Hoody. When stuffed, the jacket can function as a down pillow.
Other features of the Virtuoso Hoody include articulated elbows that allow easy layering and freedom of motion, elastic cuffs with hook and loop tabs, dual-draw cord hem adjustments and a brushed, tricot-lined collar.
Available in your choice of color and size, the Outdoor Research Virtuoso Hoody has a standard fit that can be layered over a shell or other layers.
