The Sierra Designs Women's DriDown Sweater is a versatile 800-fill DriDown insulated jacket that can be worn as outerwear or a warm mid-layer. Uniquely styled quilting both enhances warmth and adds an attractive look.
Due to the high loft and extreme compressibility of the 800-fill power down the DriDown Sweater can be packed down small into one hand pocket and easily stowed in a pack. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft comfortable feel and despite advances in synthetic materials continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet but DriDown performs differently. Employing a unique innovative polymer application DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down. This treatment results in insulation that stays dry 10 times longer and dries 30% faster than untreated down jackets. Perhaps most impressively this allows the insulation to retain 2 times more loft than untreated down which translates into maintained warmth that untreated down jackets simply cannot achieve.
Other features of the DriDown Sweater include a hem drawcord and cuff binding to seal out wind and cold drafts as well as soft sealed thumbholes. Two zippered hand warmer pockets lined with brushed tricot are ready to warm chilly hands while a strategically placed low-bulk interior security pocket and two interior drop-in pockets offer additional storage options.
The Sierra Designs Women’s DriDown Sweater has a regular cut to fit well over light and mid-weight layers or under weatherproof shells and is available in your choice of color and size.
