Weighing just about 10.6 ounces per pair (without baskets), the Komperdell Carbon C2 Ultralight poles are among the lightest trekking/snowshoeing poles on the market. These carbon fiber, two-section poles also feature easy-to-use external locking mechanisms.
The Komperdell Carbon C2 Ultra light Trekking Poles offer a lot of versatility for a variety of adventures. Their ultra lightweight but they offer the durability and the versatility of heavier poles. So the standout feature here is that carbon fiber construction. You have got a two sectioned telescoping trekking pole here and you have just got one locking mechanism. So they are able to keep the weight down there. You have only got one lock. It is an external lock and it couldn’t be any simpler to adjust. So all you do is flick it open with your thumb, adjust it to the proper height. You can make adjustments from 110 centimeters at the low end all the way up to 145 centimeters at the high end. So for such a lightweight trekking pole, you have a lot of adjustment here. So you can make quick adjustments if you need to on the fly or, you know, just adjusting it to your preferred height. So once you have got it adjusted there, all you have to is flick that closed with your thumb. It offers a very secure hold with that lock, but it doesn't require a lot of force to open and close it with your thumb, so really easy to use, really smart design there.
Moving up the pole you do have foam grips. So these grips are great in a variety of temperatures. It makes these poles perfect for snow shoeing, for winter activities when you are looking for an ultra lightweight pole. That foam is extremely durable, so it is going to last a long time. And the thing I love about foam is in the winter you can wear gloves with it and it works really well with gloves. You can’t feel the cold through that foam, so if you are not wearing gloves in colder conditions, it is definitely really comfortable and then in warmer conditions if you begin to perspire that foam is going to be great for wicking away sweat. So you also have a nice top to this grip here. You can palm the top of the pole if you need to. You have got an adjustable, very comfortable strap to reduce the strain on your wrists. And then down below the grip you do have an extended grip where you can kind of grab on if you are hiking up hill, you have a steep ascent, you can just grab the pole at a lower spot instead of having to make an adjustment there with that lock, so really versatile grip there with that lower section.
If I move down to the tip here, you have Komperdell’s Carbide Tungsten Flex Tips there. And this is definitely going to protect the pole if you were to get it snagged between two rocks or something like that, so really durable tip at the bottom. You have that durable tungsten carbide as well, so that is going to give great traction on snow and ice and then you do have an included basket here. This basket is a wider diameter than a standard hiking basket, so it is going to give you great floatation on top of snow. And it is flexible so that is kind of a nice feature there, you know, as you are hiking, as you a snow shoeing and moving that basket is going to kind of move with you if you are digging down into the snow, so it is a small feature, but it really makes a big difference there.
And all of the features here with this pole make it really versatile for a variety of adventures. You have ultra lightweight carbon construction. It is the Komperdell Carbon C2 Ultralight Trekking Poles.
