The pocket-sized, ultra-lightweight Black Diamond Orbit lantern utilizes a full 1-Watt LED bulb to provide ounce-counting backpackers with bright, non-glaring illumination. Despite weighing just 3 oz (not including batteries) the Orbit serves as a powerful, reliable light source.
Working in tandem with dual reflectors and a frosted globe, the 1-Watt bulb provides maximum light output without causing glare. An integrated dimming switch allows for quick and easy brightness adjustability. Operated by 4 AAA alkaline batteries (not included), the Orbit offers 24 hours of burn time. The Orbit is also compatible with Black Diamond's NRG2 Rechargeable Battery Kit (sold separately) which cuts down on waste and provides you with a renewable energy source. An integrated battery power indicator lets you know the amount of battery left or the charging status of the NRG2 Rechargeable Battery Kit.
When collapsed, the Orbit is a mere 4 inches in length. At full extension, the Orbit stands at a full height of 5.5 inches, increasing the disbursement of light.
The Black Diamond Orbit lantern is available in your choice of colors.

- There is nothing not to like about this little lantern, This is the older model thats only 45 lumens but puts out plenty of light for such a small size. I like it so much I bought its big brother the Apollo
Likes: Compact, bright, water resistant, price
Likes: Small, compact, and light. Newer version only needs three batteries, reducing packed weight a little. Hangs, stands, or tilts
Dislikes: Not very bright - prefer my tactical flashlight. Way more expensive but you can see the difference too
Likes: Very small (about the size of a small can of tomato paste), and it easily fits in the side pockets of my pack and even in the pockets on my hip belt. Also very bright for its size, and can easily light up a small cooking area or tent. It also uses standard batteries, so I can use the same batteries with my headlight and a small flashlight that I always try to keep with me. Also seems very durable.
Dislikes: Initially, I was put off by the size (it's tiny, as I mentioned above). But after turning it on and seeing how much light it puts out, decided that small was a good thing. No real dislikes at all.
Likes: It is even smaller and lighter than I had expected making it extremely easy to pack. Construction is very solid and seems very durable. The light is more than enough to light up the inside of my two person tent. I have to dim it halfway or else it's too bright. I expect it would work well with even large 4 person tents. Operation is extremely simple and the 2 3/4 hooks that turn into a loop makes it so you can hang it practically anywhere without worrying about it falling off. Highly recommended.
Dislikes: I would have liked usb charging capabilities but not a big deal.
Likes: Very bright for as small as it is!
Likes: Compact, packs easily, split ring makes it easy to hang in the tent, telescoping dome protects on/off switch from accidental activation
