With its high-performance water-repellent DownTek insulation and a roomy semi-rectangular shape the Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking.

The bag is insulated with 650 fill DownTek insulation. Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The shortcoming of down has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. DownTek insulation utilizes nano technology and a proprietary application process to provide water-repellency and both anti-microbial and anti-bacterial protection. A nylon rip-stop shell also features a water repellent treatment and provides lightweight durability.

Insotect Flow technology is used to help eliminate cold spots regulate the movement of down inside the baffles and offer better body heat distribution. Strategically placed Flow Gate construction eliminates lateral and vertical down shifting by using vertical chambers with "gates" to control the position and density of the down insulation.

In a traditional sleeping system the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. In this configuration many people find themselves rolling off the pad at night. Plus the insulation on the bottom of the bag is compressed by the sleeper's weight. Once compressed the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes System is different joining the bag and pad together. The pad slides into a sleeve on the bottom side of the bag supplying insulation to the otherwise uninsulated bottom of the bag while the top and sides of the bag are insulated like a traditional sleeping bag. This design provides a secure foundation so you can roll twist and turn freely during the night without ever rolling off your pad. It also prevents the bag from twisting and engulfing you in an uncomfortable mess. Big Agnes uses this system throughout their entire line of sleeping bags.

The Lost Ranger 15 Degree is available in Regular (fits up to 5'10") and Long (fits up to 6'6") lengths. Once you match your bag with a rectangular sleeping pad of the appropriate dimensions (20" x 72" for the Regular or 20" x 78" for the Long) spending a night in the Lost Ranger 15 Degree is both warm and comfortable.

A number of performance features further equip the bag for thermal efficiency. A contoured insulated hood keeps your head warm and a no-draft collar keeps cold air from creeping in the top of the bag and reaching the bag’s interior. A full-length draft tube sewn behind the zipper further ensures that cold air remains outside of the bag. A no-draft wedge protects the connection between the bag and the pad so that cold air doesn't sneak in between the two. A stretch panel on the pad sleeve also doubles as a stabilizer to keep your pillow from shifting around as you sleep.

A nylon stuff sack and mesh storage sack are included with each Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree sleeping bag.

Great room with the Wide Long size
Reviewed by D - February 4, 2019

Likes: Great product, fits perfectly with the Big Agnes sleeping pad system and has enough room for a 6'5" 300lb male. Size - Wide Long. Super great purchase.

Dislikes: None so far.

Reviewed by Mike - January 22, 2019

Likes: If roomy and attached to the pad are your priorities, this bag is good at both. It felt colder than other 15 degree rated bags, and I opted for something less cavernous and insulated all the way around paired with a pad that wasn't slippery and so did not require a sleeve on the bag.

Dislikes: Seemed less warm.
Also realized something about the sleeve system as a tall person with no room to spare head to toe on a sleeping mat…the sleeve on the sleeping bag dictated placement of my body in the bag on the pad--lower than was ideal, so my feet were off the bottom edge but I had too much room above my head. Perhaps not an issue for someone short enough to have inches to play with in the bag/on the pad, but not good for me.

Awesome Bag for the Value - A little heavier than some
Reviewed by Chris B. - June 29, 2018

Likes: Bag is spacious, warm when you pair it with an insulated sleeping pad, easily packable with the sleeping pad remaining in the pouch, at a very fair price

Dislikes: Bag weighs slightly more than some of the more expensive bags

Exactly what I was looking for
Reviewed by Pace - March 19, 2018

Likes: I tend to toss a bit when I sleep and I love the room it has at the legs. Super warm and cozy.

Dislikes: Wish it compressed a little bit more but not a deal breaker.
