With its high-performance, water-repellent DownTek insulation and a roomy semi-rectangular shape, the Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking.
The Lost Ranger 15 Degree bag is insulated with 650 fill DownTek insulation. Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The shortcoming of down has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture, losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. DownTek insulation utilizes nano technology and a proprietary application process to provide water-repellency and both anti-microbial and anti-bacterial protection. A nylon rip-stop shell also features a water repellent treatment and provides lightweight durability.
Insotect Flow technology is used in the Lost Ranger 15 Degree to help eliminate cold spots, regulate the movement of down inside the baffles and offer better body heat distribution. Strategically placed Flow Gate construction eliminates lateral and vertical down shifting by using vertical chambers with "gates" to control the position and density of the down insulation.
In a traditional sleeping system, the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. In this configuration, many people find themselves rolling off the pad at night. Plus, the insulation on the bottom of the bag is compressed by the sleeper's weight. Once compressed, the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes System is different, joining the bag and pad together. The pad slides into a sleeve on the bottom side of the bag, supplying insulation to the otherwise uninsulated bottom of the bag while the top and sides of the bag are insulated like a traditional sleeping bag. This design provides a secure foundation so you can roll, twist and turn freely during the night without ever rolling off your pad. It also prevents the bag from twisting and engulfing you in an uncomfortable mess. Big Agnes uses this system throughout their entire line of sleeping bags.
The Lost Ranger 15 Degree is available in Regular (fits up to 5'10") and Long (fits up to 6'6") lengths. Once you match your bag with a rectangular sleeping pad of the appropriate dimensions (20" x 72" for Regular and 20" x 78" for Long), spending a night in the Lost Ranger 15 Degree is both warm and comfortable.
A number of performance features further equip the Lost Ranger 15 Degree for efficient insulation. A contoured, insulated hood keeps your head warm and a no-draft collar keeps cold air from creeping in the top of the bag and reaching the interior of the Lost Ranger 15 Degree. A full-length draft tube sewn behind the zipper further ensures that cold air remains outside of the bag. A no-draft wedge protects the connection between the bag and the pad, so that cold air doesn't sneak in between the two. A stretch panel on pad sleeve also doubles as pillow stabilizer to keep your pillow from shifting around as you sleep.
A nylon stuff sack and mesh storage sack are included with each Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree sleeping bag.

Real Customer Reviews
- Cold On Bottom
Likes: Packs small
Integrated sleeping pad pocket
Dislikes: Unfortunately, this bag's strength is also its weakness. The integrated sleeping pad pocket gives this bag the ability to pack relatively small. I used this bag with the BA Insulated Q Core pad (which is ultra comfy). I'm not sure what the actual temperature was, but would venture to say in the mid teens overnight. My torso was nice and toasty, but my legs and feet got cold. The only thing that I can think is that there isn't enough weight on your lower half to make a 'seal' with the pad on the bottom half of the bag. It seemed as if the cold crept in between the pad and the uninsulated portion of the bag.
- Does not deliver the warmth of a 15 degree bag
Likes: Like the system of bag and pad.
Dislikes: Does not deliver the warmth of a 15 degree bag. 32 degrees at best. Very disappointed.
