The Atlas Elektra design features frame shaped to accommodate the biomechanical differences of a woman’s natural gait and binding built around a woman’s boot.
Equipped with aggressive traction, secure and stable bindings and sturdy 7075 aluminum frames, Atlas Elektra 12 Series Women’s snowshoes are built for demanding winter conditions. An array of performance features make 12 Series snowshoes ideal for top-of-the-mountain adventures or extended winter backpacking.
Atlas undertook a two-year biomechanics research program to develop design features that directly addressed the unique needs of women. Elektra frames incorporate tapered tails, narrower noses and outside rolling bends that properly accommodate a woman's natural gait. Bindings are molded around a women's boot last, offer increased arch support and use strategic strap placement and padding to eliminate pressure points and encourage circulation.
Accommodating users of varied sizes, Elektra 12 Series Women’s snowshoes are available in two sizes. The 23 inch length is suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of 80-160 pounds while the recommended use range for the larger 27 inch shoe is 120-200+ pounds.
Patented impact-absorbing Spring-Loaded Suspensions (SLS) keep 12 Series snowshoes close underfoot while suspending your feet so they can move freely to adjust to terrain and slope changes. By allowing your feet to flex naturally, Elektra 12 Series Women’s snowshoes improve stability and balance while providing deep crampon penetration for maximum traction. WRAPP Pro bindings have supportive arches that cradle the inside of your feet to keep you comfortable even during long, challenging days in the backcountry. Silicone FlowTape straps glide through low-friction buckles to make use easy even with gloved hands. A heel strap adjusts easily to ensure a secure and proper fit.
Stainless steel Zodiac toe crampons provide deeply-penetrating traction. Wider tabs at the sides and corners of the crampons complement sharp front and rear points in providing confident footing. Rear stainless steel Stabilock traction systems aid in weight distribution and enhance footing even on technical terrain.
Rugged 7075 aluminum Reactiv V-frames deliver an efficient, natural stride. By tracking straight in deep snow and pulling less snow as you step forward, the nose and tapered tail of Elektra 12 Series Women’s snowshoes save you energy. Built-in Heel Lift Bars lessen the distance that the bottoms of your boots travel from the snowshoe decks during climbs. This feature greatly improves performance on steep slopes and helps to reduce the fatigue associated with elevation gains.
Duratek deckings provide durability and optimize flotation. NOTE: A minimum base of 6"-8" of snow is suggested for usage in order to properly protect the integrity of the decking material.
Atlas Elektra 12 Series Women’s snowshoes are sold in pairs.
- Spring-Loaded Suspension (SLS) patented design suspends the snowshoe close underfoot so it can move freely with its intended articulation, absorbing impact, flexing naturally side-to-side, and allowing deeper crampon penetration into the slope.
- Elektra design features frame shaped to accommodate the biomechanical differences of a woman’s natural gait and binding built around a woman’s boot.
- Wrapp Pro Binding features FlowTape silicone straps that glide through low-friction buckles and smooth buckle release for easy on-off use.
- A proprietary Atlas shape, the sturdy aluminum V-Frames track straight in deep snow, and the tapered tail pulls less snow as you step forward, saving your energy. The turned-up tail of the V-frame rolls easily into each step for a natural gait.
