Built for demanding conditions, Atlas Elektra 11 Series Women's snowshoes have an array of features that deliver high-end performance for winter backpacking and hiking. Durable construction and ergonomic design combine to help you take on snow and ice with confidence.

Atlas undertook a two-year biomechanics research program to develop design features that directly addressed the unique needs of women. Elektra frames incorporate tapered tails, narrower noses and outside rolling bends that properly accommodate a woman's natural gait. Bindings are molded around a women's boot last, offer increased arch support and use strategic strap placement and padding to eliminate pressure points and encourage circulation.

Elektra 11 Series Women's snowshoes are available in two sizes. The 23 inch length is suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of 80-160 pounds. The recommended use range for the larger 27 inch shoe is 120-200+ pounds.

Atlas' patented impact absorbing Spring-Loaded Suspension (SLS) keeps Elektra 11 Series Women's snowshoes close underfoot while suspending your foot so it can move freely to adjust to terrain and slope changes. By allowing your foot to flex naturally, Elektra 11 Series Women's snowshoes improve stability and balance while providing deep crampon penetration for maximum traction. The Wrapp Plus binding has a supportive arch that cradles the inside of your feet to keep you comfortable even during long, challenging days in the backcountry. A urethane heel strap adjusts easily with a SureClick buckle to ensure a secure and proper fit.

The 6061 aluminum V-frame delivers an efficient, natural stride. By tracking straight in deep snow and pulling less snow as you step forward, the nose and tapered tail of Elektra 11 Series Women's snowshoes save you energy. A built-in Heel Lift Bar lessens the distance that the bottom of your boot travels from the snowshoe deck during climbs. This feature greatly improves performance on steep slopes and helps to reduce the fatigue associated with elevation gains.

Providing lightweight durability, flexible Duratek decking optimizes flotation. A "pebble-finish" increases abrasion resistance. NOTE: A minimum base of 6"-8" of snow is suggested for usage in order to properly protect the integrity of the decking material.

The stainless steel All-Trac toe crampon provides "all direction" traction. Wider tabs at the sides and corners of the crampon complement sharp front and rear points in providing confident footing. Sharp ice tips on a rear heel cleat provide excellent all-mountain traction.

Likes: I love these snowshoes. They are light weight and preform great in deep snow. I was able to break trail in the White Mountains with the greatest of ease.

I have put them to good use. I have used them ten times. Winter is my favorite time of year to hike. I was able to do five miles without getting exhausted like I did with other bands of snow shoes.

The crampon on the Elektra 11 works great on icy trails. I was able to climb easily with these snowshoes.

Dislikes: The thing I did not like about these snowshoes was the quick release. It did not work for me. I still have to fiddle with the release clips individually. The binding would often get caught up in my gaiters. This caused me to have to struggle to get my boot out of the snowshoe in very cold weather. I am hoping that it will resolve itself over time once the binding is stretch out a little. . This is why I only gave it a 4 star rating.
