Ideal for day hikes or extended backpacking trips, the Asolo Stynger GTX Women's boot offers support and protection on varied types of terrain. Leather construction and a full GORE-TEX bootie provide reliable waterproof/breathable performance while high tenacity nylon offers a comfortable fit with an easy break-in period.

Weighing roughly 2 pounds and 6 ounces per pair, the Stynger GTX Women's boot is suitable for day hikes or longer trips with a pack weight of up to 30 pounds. The top of the boot is stiff yet pliable enough to snug the Stynger GTX Women's boot tight around your ankle. A rubber toe rand helps to defend against stubbed toes and extends the life of the boot.

Under foot you'll find a Duo Asoflex lady lasting board to protect the bottom of your foot from the impact of roots and rocks as well as a Polyurethane midsole to help cushion your foot on long hikes. The outsole of the Stynger GTX Women's boot is an exclusive Asolo Syncro bi-density rubber which features an Asobrake heel design for better traction on steep descents. A speed lacing system at the ankle of the Stynger GTX Women's boot allows for quick lacing and fit adjustments. Durable, metal hardware is a cut above what you'll find on many competitors' boots.

Sold in pairs, the Asolo Stynger GTX Women's backpacking boot is available in full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot, you should apply a fabric and leather conditioner and waterproofing treatment (both sold separately).

very good hiking boots
Reviewed by Vincent V. - August 27, 2015

Likes: I have purchase the boots as a gift to my girlfriend and she like it very much .
it's very light and it has more traction. this is the best boots so far she had.
she was very happy on the boots

Dislikes: expensive boots , but it's worth it.

Likes: I like the stability of this boot. It makes for a great and comfortable hike.

Dislikes: Typically, I'm spot-on with my sizing. However, in this boot, I felt that I should've sized down about a 1/2 size from my usual shoe size. The boot does run big, and that's with a heavy/thick hiking sock on. If a half size smaller was available, I probably would've purchased that and felt it was the perfect fit. I only gave it 4 stars, because this is my second crack at trying to get the right size/fit in this boot.

Likes: I like that this boot provided the support and protection I was seeking in a hiking boot. Additionally, this was my first Backcountry Edge order, and I was impressed with their knowledge, advice, and customer service! I would highly recommend ordering from them!

Dislikes: Compared to another booth hat I purchased from they aren't as comfortable. Additionally, due to inventory, I sized-up a 1/2 size. The shoes are far too fig for me. They seem so big, that I'd consider sizing down a 1/2 size from my actual size - I'm concerned my actual size in this boot might be too large.

Likes: Everything! Ok might be much for some but I love my new boots. I tried an Asolo at REI and that help with sizing concern. I've worn my boots at the mall while shopping and didn't really experienced any fatigue one gets from stiff soles. The weight was there but I didn't feel that it was dragging me down much. On actual trails the Asolo perform like a dream for me. I felt so nimble and secure in my footing. New to hiking so the fit and sturdiness of the boot is very important in protecting twisting ankles.

Dislikes: Not really a dislike because I already knew the pros and cons, but do wish that they could have shave just a smidgen more of the weight.
