Ideal for day hikes or extended backpacking trips, the Asolo Fugitive GTX backpacking boot offers support and protection on varied types of terrain. Leather construction and a full GORE-TEX bootie provide reliable waterproof/breathable performance while high tenacity nylon offers a comfortable fit with an easy break-in period.
Weighing roughly 3 pounds per pair, the Fugitive GTX is suitable for day hikes or longer trips with a pack weight of up to 30 pounds. The top of the boot is stiff yet pliable enough to snug the Fugitive GTX tight around your ankle. A rubber toe rand helps to defend against stubbed toes and extends the life of the boot.
Under foot you'll find a Duo Asoflex men's lasting board to protect the bottom of your foot from the impact of roots and rocks as well as a Polyurethane midsole to help cushion your foot on long hikes. The outsole of the Fugitive GTX is an exclusive Asolo Syncro bi-density rubber which features an Asobrake heel design for better traction on steep descents. A speed lacing system at the ankle of the Fugitive GTX allows for quick lacing and fit adjustments. Durable, metal hardware is a cut above what you'll find on many competitors' boots.
Sold in pairs, the Asolo Fugitive GTX backpacking boot is available in men's full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot, you should apply a fabric and leather conditioner and waterproofing treatment (both sold separately).

Real Customer Reviews
- Excellent boot!
Likes: Fits perfectly and gives great stabilization for my ankles and they look great!
- Really comfortable Boots!
Likes: This is my first pair of Asolo Boots. When I first ordered them I was concerned that the would be to narrow for my foot, because I read many reviews stating that the tend to run narrow in width. It turns out that my foot is not as wide as I first thought. I ordered the 9D size and they fit perfectly, even with midweight wool hiking socks. This is the first pair of hiking boots I have owned that I can honestly say are designed for human feet and not someone's abstract concept of how footwear should fit and function. The feel natural when walking and trail hiking, they are supportive where they need to be, provide great traction in many conditions and appear to rugged enough for extended treks. I should also mention, they are true to foot size, so You should take in consideration the weight of the socks You will be wearing in various weather conditions. These are Fantastic Hiking Boots, I will be purchasing more Asolo boots in the future. Also, it's hard to beat Backcountry Edge's prices and customer service.
Dislikes: None thus far, I haven't had the chance to test there waterproofing yet, but something tells they will do just fine.

Dislikes: None so far, love them the way they are.
- Great quality boot
Likes: Comfortable with great ankle support.
Dislikes: None so far.
- Fit Like A Glove
Likes: Having worn the asolo fusion for many years i was quite aware of the amazing feel of asolo boots. They are sturdy and supportive as well as extremely rugged. I have countless miles on my fusions, hiking the rugged adirondack mountains. Once in the right size these boots feel fantastic, like you never want to take them off. If the fugitives prove as rugged as the fusions then i will be a happy camper.
Dislikes: Like so many boots made today the fugitive tends to run narrow. I have wide feet so sizing is a challenge. I ended up in a full size larger in the wide model to get the toe room needed for comfort. Backcountry edge made it easy to get the right size with their free exchange policy.
