The Arc’teryx Men’s Beta SL Hybrid Jacket utilizes a combination of GORE-TEX fabrics to effectively balance weight and performance. This hybrid construction results in a lightweight (12.3 ounces), packable jacket that delivers waterproof/breathable protection in varied conditions.
The main body of the jacket is a 2L GORE-TEX Paclite. High-wear areas employ 3L GORE-TEX fabrication with a C-KNIT backer to increase durability without adding bulk or compromising breathability. Water-resistant zippers and taped seams ensure that you stay dry while integrated pit zippers allow you to quickly and efficiently dump warm air when temperatures rise.
Other technical features include a helmet-compatible and adjustable StormHood, high-set hand pockets, a drop hem with an adjustable drawcord, and adjustable, laminated sleeve cuffs.
Available in your choice of size and color options, the Arc’teryx Men’s Beta SL Hybrid Jacket is cut to hip-length and has a trim fit that enables you to wear baselayers and low-profile midlayers beneath it.

Real Customer Reviews
- Great Jacket
Likes: This is an excellent jacket. Lightweight, highly packable, usual Arc'teryx quality. A great piece of kit!
Dislikes: Athletic fit, so if using with lots of layers, or not quite lean and mean, might want to size up.
- All-round Mountain Jacket
Likes: I wanted a packable, breathable jacket as well as being waterproof and windproof.
I was thinking about the Arcteryx Alpha FL but I decided to go for this one because of the lower price and two external pockets which would keep my hands out of the wind. (Besides, at the time, Backcountry Edge did not offer it).
I appreciate the details such as the fabric behind the neck to absorb sweat, the stormhood that has a cord going across for peripheral vision, and how the zipper goes a bit higher so that there's no need for a zipper-garage. The high armpit holes is great for articulation, meaning that there is no ride-up when raising your arms past 90 degrees. Also, the trim-fit is great for my slim build.
Dislikes: - Paclite Gortex (not GORE-TEX Pro)
- No internal pocket
