Unlike standard emergency bivvy shelters, the Adventure Medical Kits SOL Escape Bivvy is made from a waterproof/windproof, breathable fabric that eliminates condensation buildup while reflecting your body heat back to you.
Unlike standard emergency bivvy shelters, the Adventure Medical Kits SOL Escape Bivvy is made from a waterproof/windproof, breathable fabric that eliminates condensation buildup while reflecting your body heat back to you. A wonderful option for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a back up shelter that can be used comfortably during an emergency, the SOL Escape Bivvy measures 36" x 84" in use but packs down small to stow easily in a backpack or survival kit, all at a weight of just 8.5 ounces!
Most ultra-lightweight emergency shelters are made from fabrics that allow condensation to build up inside as you get warm, leaving your clothes and skin damp and clammy. The SOL Escape Bivvy eliminates concerns of staying dry and warm because the proprietary fabric lets moisture pass through while keeping rain, snow, and wind on the outside and reflecting your body heat back to you on the inside. Waterproof seams and a simple drawstring hood closure with a short, side zipper allow for easy access while sealing out the elements. These features make the SOL Escape Bivvy suitable for use as a traditional ultra-lightweight, warm-weather sleeping bag or as an over-bag in cold climates.
A useful add-on to any survival pack, the Adventure Medical Kits SOL Escape Bivvy is also a great addition for cold weather camping, summer backpacking or general travel. The Bivvy is available in your choice of colors.
- Reflects body heat

Likes: I think these bivvies are great for emergency preparedness. I'm going to buy some more to keep in our vehicles, for example. So far, though, I've just used it for backpacking when I know the nights are going to be colder. I just put it around my sleeping bag and it adds some extra insulation against the chilly nights. Since it doesn't weigh much, I just take it when I need it and leave it at home when I don't. I have had no problems with condensation.
Dislikes: No complaints so far. I don't think they're meant to last forever, but it seems great for now.
Likes: The top of the line bivy that SOL offers is good for keeping body heat in the bag and keeping your sleeping bag clean at the same time.
Dislikes: Positively no argument here.
Likes: Lightweight, plenty of room for a 6' 2" 230lb frame, warm and dry
