Manufactured in Seattle Washington, the Trail Lite self-inflating sleeping pad is an excellent balance of performance and price. It employs a very streamlined profile, has a very compact packed size and is also extremely lightweight. Makes this an excellent choice for 3-season backpacking. The Trail Lite has 1.5-inch thick open cell foam core – a nice base for sleeping. It also employs die-cutting throughout the pad again that’s coring in the pad that helps to save weight without taking away or sacrificing that cushioning and helps to retain the R-value as well. A polyester top and bottom fabrics are both comfortable and durable, providing a nice feel to the touch. Therm-A-Rest also does include a stuff sack with the Trail Lite. Therm-A-Rest does recommend that you store any self-inflating pad with the integrated valve open. When they ship the pads, they are in a compressed state, so when you purchase a self-inflating pad, it’s recommended that you open that valve and give the pad 24 hours or whatever time you can give it open, so that foam can rebound a little bit and get to something closer to full inflation.
