Borrowing from the award-winning design of the Therm-A-Rest NeoAir, the inflatable Neo Air Trekker provides increased durability while still maintaining lightweight pack-ability. Manufactured in Seattle, Washington, the Neo Air Trekker provides great versatility. Certainly lightweight enough for mild-weather backpacking, summer backpacking, also comfortable enough for travel use or even for indoor purposes. The 2.5” thick horizontal baffles on the Neo Air Trekker give it great stability, make it far more stable than what you’ll find from the vertical baffles found on most traditional, inflatable sleeping pads. These pads are great, but they do sometimes have a tendency to feel a little bouncy, a little like a pool raft. You don’t really experience that on the Neo Air Trekker. There’s also some internal structure inside this pad that makes it that much more stable and will make it also slightly warmer than other inflatable sleeping pads. Still, pretty much a 1-season, 3-season pad slightly, but for mild weather, summer backpacking, that kind of usage. The inflatable design of the Neo air trekker certainly cuts down on weight, makes it a really packable option for backpacking or camping. It does however require that you manually blow up the sleeping pads. Usually 20 strong puffs of air will do the trick. Once you have fully inflated the pad, simply close that valve and settle in. Once you’ve done that, you can easily adjust the firmness of the pad by reaching over your shoulder, opening the valve and letting enough air to escape that you’ve reached the comfort level that you prefer. Keep in mind as air cools, it will compact and there is some chance that through the night, you’ll see that firmness come down a little bit. It’s an easy fix – open the valve, blow a few puffs of air back in the pad and re-achieve that full inflation.
