Durable and breathable construction combined with supportive underfoot protection make the Patagonia Release multi-sport trail shoe a good choice for trail runs or day hikes with uneven terrain and long mileage. The Release’s synthetic leather upper combined with Airmesh creates a comfortable fit with great breathability in hot weather. Weighing under a pound for a pair, Patagonia’s Dynamic Fit lacing system provides a precise and secure fit that adjusts to the volume of your foot as you lace your shoe. Let’s take a close up look at Patagonia’s Dynamic Lace system. The top two tabs on the shoe where the laces are fed through move independently from the rest of the shoe. They are attached to the tongue and slide back and forth. What this does is it allows you to adjust the internal volume of the shoe to actually fit your foot instead of just tightening the laces and getting a bunched up tongue on the top of your foot. A triple density EVA foot frame offers good pronation and stabilization control and a shock absorption pad protects the forefoot. In the outsole you’ll find a TPU shock plate that help to distribute pressure while supporting your foot on uneven terrain. A Vibram Release outsole provides excellent traction due to high density studs in the outsole of the forefoot and has specific tread placement for men.
