We are taking a closer look at the Rover Multi-Sport shoe by Patagonia Footwear. This is the ultimate fast and light shoe when you are out on the trail doing multiple different sports. It has got a very minimalist feel and I can see it perfect for if you are out, you know, doing some running, scrambling on rocks and a little bit of climbing and you just want one shoe that is going to do it all.
This is built as a minimalist type of trail running shoe. And you have about a five and a half millimeter drop. So you have a natural foot strike and just looking at the bottom of the shoe you do have some lugs here on the bottom for traction, but, again, as you move up to the toe of the shoe this is a pretty flat surface that you can really get some traction and edging on rocks. And also as you move to the toe of the shoe you have got that sticky rubber, again, that you would find on a climbing shoe or an approach shoe. And a little bit of that sticky rubber in the back and you also have a climbing lacing system. So, you know, with a trail running shoe the lacing system might just come down to here, but it goes all the way down to the toe so you can really cinch down the bottom of the shoe when, you know, when you need to get some more edging. You have got extremely breathable mesh here in the upper and that is paired with some overlays that are pretty durable as well. So in those key areas where you are going to need a little bit more durability you have really got... you have got that going on to give it a little bit of stability. But in those mesh areas, should the shoe become wet it will dry out really fast.
With the combination of trail running traction and the climbing specific features of this she, when you are out on a long day linking multiple sports together you have no reason to take this shoe off. It is the Rover by Patagonia Footwear.
