The Rocky Mountain Low Gaiter by Outdoor Research is a perfect way for hikers and backpackers to keep trail debris like rocks, sticks, stones and leaves out of their shoes and for hikers going out in the wintertime in shallow snow to keep snow out of their boot. To completely secure the gaiter to your foot, OR uses a Hypalon strap that is stretchy and fits under the middle of the foot. The strap has some adjustability and allows it to fit over a variety of shoes and boots. It secures through a buckle and there is a piece of tabbed webbing here that you can stick the strap into to keep it from flapping about. The bottom of the Rocky Mountain Low Gaiter has a durable elastic band that also fits to a variety of footwear, keeps it secured to your foot and has the same elastic band at the top to offer some adjustability and comfort around the leg. This gaiter is made out of a lightweight pack cloth. It's extremely water-resistant, but not waterproof and it breathes very well. The front closure of the gaiter is a strip of durable Velcro. At the top there's an extra Velcro tab. At the bottom you have the same thing to keep that tab closed as well as a metal hook that attaches to the laces to help secure the gaiter to your shoe.
