Hi, and welcome to backcountry Edge. I'm Liz and I'd like to introduce you to Marmot sleeping bags. The Sawtooth is packed with 600 fill power European goose down. It's rated to 15 degrees which means it's going to be a great bag for 3-season backpacking and camping but it can really push the boundaries of eary winter and late spring as well. This is a good option for anyone who doesn't live where it's constantly zero degrees and is looking for a bag that might get them through year round use. Since the Sawtooth 15 is insulated with down it's compressible and faily light weight. It's going to fit in a pack well and be usable in that sense. Some nice features are going to start with the six chambered Nautulis Hood by Marmot and added insulation around the face as well. Marmot keeps the weight down on this bag by using a single draw cord but this cord still lets you cinch the bag around your head nice and tight. Inside the bag you'll find an insulated collar that runs around the top with it's own draw cord. This bag has snag-free zippers that run the length of the bag with two full draft tubes along that zipper. The construction of this bag is a full baffle construction which means where you see seams, they are not sewn through. This eliminates cold spots. There is also a small pocket in the foot box that's perfect for keeping heat packs or hand warmers at night to help keep your feet a bit warmer. The standard Sawtooth comes with a nylon shell that has a DWR (durable water repelancy) applied to it. This helps shed water off of the bag. There is another version of the Sawtooth called the Sawtooth Membrain. That bag is constructed with Marmot's proprietary waterproof breathable fabric, called Membrain. This means the bag itself is waterproof.
