We're looking at the Lafuma GR 20 series of sleeping bags. These are synthetic-filled, mummy sleeping bags with a 20 degree temperature rating on the two of these. You're looking at 3-season usage for backpacking or for camping. The Maxi Loft synthetic insulation used in these bags is not as lightweight or compressible as down, but it is warm and it does retain its insulating qualities even if it's wet or damp, which in certain instances does make that preferable to down. It certainly also saves on price and these bags are certainly a lot of bag for the money. Despite the affordable price, the GR 20 bags have a really nice feature set. Starting with the zipper here, you have a half-length zipper. It's a dual slider which also allows for venting options when the weather's a little bit warmer. Behind the zipper is a nice, big draft tube which keeps any cold air from sneaking in through the zipper. Here on the chest and interior of the bag itself is a nice little storage pocket for valuables and things you want to keep close at hand during the night. There is a baffled collar right beneath the chin that helps maintain that temperature rating throughout the night. Fully insulated hood. Adjustments on that hood to make sure you're getting an appropriate fit around your head and again at the neck. Nice little feature here on the zipper full itself is a little glow in the dark pull tab on that, gives it a little bit of visibility in the middle of the night. In order to make the GR 20 series backpacking suitable, Lafuma includes a compression stuff sack that cinches the bag down to a size that's manageable for backpacking purposes. When storing the bag, do not store it in its compressed state. To extend the lifespan of that bag, as with any bag, you'll want to hang it if you can, in its uncompressed state. Lafuma makes that easy by including a couple of hang loops at the foot of the bag.
