Hi, I’m Garth from Big Agnes and I would like to talk to you a little bit about the Big Agnes Sleeping Pad program. At Big Agnes you have a couple of choices. You can go with the traditional self-inflating pad, offering the convenience of opening the valve and letting the pad inflate most of the way, close it down and you are ready to go. You also have another option which is new. You may have grown on those “pool pads” but we have introduced a whole new series or technical blow up style pads that range in temperature from a warm weather, non insulated above 35 degree pad all the way down to a 0 degree frozen ground pad option. Some things to keep in mind when you are looking for pads is how you will be using them. If you are going to be going to campgrounds or camping out of the car, where bulk and weight is really not a concern, but maximum support, comfort, and convenience is, you may want to consider our more traditional self inflating pads. As you can see, they roll up to be fairly compact but they take a fair amount of space if you were to put them on a backpack. On the other hand, if you find that you either don’t have space in your vehicle or you are going to be backpacking, you will want to give serious consideration to our newer blowup style pads where not only do you get the same 20 or 25 inch width on the pad, you get 2.5 inches of thickness and it packs down to about a third of the size and less than half the weight of a traditional self inflating pad. In addition to the more traditional rectangular pads in multiple widths and lengths, we also offer a mummy shaped pad in multiple lengths and multiple widths as well. This allows you to carry a minimum amount of weight but still have a full length body pad.
