Air chambered pad from Big Agnes offer you unprecedented lightweight, compact, options for quite frankly, one of the most comfortable sleeps that you will have away from your own bed. The most economical option is our Air Core pad. Designed for warm weather, really for most people any temperature range of 35 degrees and up is great. You may hear some people talk about colder situations but we do not advocate that. If you are wondering, “Will these self inflate?” no they will not. You will either have to use a pump or simply blow them up yourself. Personally, I blow my pad up. I find that the 15 to 30 breaths, depending on the size of the pad I am using, takes me anywhere from a minute and a half to three minutes at the most, during a casual conversation. What you will find is that the amount of energy that you spend in camp between set up and tear down between a blow up pad and a self inflating pad is about the same. The big difference is that you are on 2.5 inches of air and you don’t feel anything underneath you during the night, and when you are hiking or backpacking during the day you are carrying a much smaller, lighter sleeping pad and you are saving energy and enjoying your day that much more.
