Product Highlights

The Vasque Breeze GTX is a lightweight, waterproof hiking boot suitable for any length day hike on maintained trails in easy-to-moderate terrain. A full GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Range (XCR) bootie keeps feet dry and Airmesh nylon fabric and leather construction offer a comfortable fit with little to no break in required.

Weighing roughly 2 pounds and 8 ounces per pair, the Breeze GTX has a light and comfortable feel on your foot. The top of the boot is soft and pliable enough to snug the Breeze GTX tight around your ankle or offer gentle cushioning if you need some support but are not fond of a boot hugging your ankle.

Under foot you'll find a TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) plate to protect the bottom of your foot from the impact of roots and rocks as well as a thick layer of EVA rubber to help cushion your foot on long hikes. Vasque uses their Arc Tempo last to create an athletic fit that promotes agility over technical terrain. The asymmetrical curve offers a good fit for people with higher arches and also places your foot in a more powerful position during toe off. A tapered toe box offers adequate room without wasted space and the medium volume heel fits a wide range of shapes. The outsole of the Breeze GTX is a Vasque exclusive called Vibram Contact which features aggressive, high-traction lugs at the heel and toe areas. A prominent heel edge provides better traction on steep descents. A speed lacing system at the ankle of this boot allows for quick lacing and fit adjustments.

Sold in pairs, the Vasque Breeze GTX hiking boot is available in full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot you should apply a fabric and leather conditioner as well as a waterproofing treatment (both sold separately).

Styles available: Size 8.5 Medium Taupe/Burnt Orange, Size 9.0 Medium Taupe/Burnt Orange

Vasque part numbers: M7466-8.5, M7466-9.0

Likes: Great boot, very comfortable. Probably not good for rough terrain or carrying heavy loads, but for day hikes or even non-technical overnights, a great boot. I use them on Boy Scout outings and love them.

Dislikes: No complaints, unless you expect it to be something it isn't. It's a lightweight hiking boot and is excellent in that role.

Likes: Great fit and comfort. They fit great right out of the box I wore them on a 20 mile hike in wet rainy conditions and they performed great my feet never got wet! They were far superior to my old boots. Like them so much I ordered a pair for my son.

Dislikes: Nothing so far. Great Boot.

Likes: Bought these boots for a backpacking trip to NM in June, have put a many miles on them getting ready for our trip. Love the fit of the boot and the weight. After a day of hikingn my feet feel great. They seem to be very good on slippery rocky conditions have not had even one slip, in a rather wet Ohio spring.

Dislikes: nothing. I can not find anything wrong with these boots.

Likes: Comfortable, reasonably lightweight, and a short break-in time. More breathable than an all-leather boot but still waterproof. Has been worn for a handful of hikes (3 - 10 miles) with a 25-30 lb pack, and they have performed well.

    Dislikes: Nothing so far.

Likes: great fit out of the box, superb laces and overall construction quality

Dislikes: I have approx 50 miles on these boots and find them to perform well on dry surfaces. They tend to slip on wet smooth surfaces.

Likes: This is my second part of these boots. Being a repeat buyer should say it all. Great boots!

Dislikes: Can't think of anything I don't like about these boots.
