Updated for 2013! Built for all-terrain performance in challenging winter conditions, Tubbs Xpedition snowshoes are ready-made for backcountry adventure. Cutting-edge bindings and high performance materials make Xpedition snowshoes comfortable to wear and durable against wear and tear.
Xpedtion snowshoes are available in three sizes. Measuring 8" x 25" each, Xpedition-25 inch snowshoes are suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of 120-200 pounds. At 9" x 30" per shoe, Xpedition-30 inch snowshoes are suitable for a total weight of 170-250 pounds and Xpedition-36 inch snowshoes (10" x 36" per shoe) are suitable for a total weight of 220-300 pounds.
Innovative R2 Revolution Response articulation delivers comfort and maneuverability. This design provides shock-absorbing lateral flex, maintaining your feet's natural positions even when you tackle side slope traverses. It also maximizes crampon penetration in the snow base, ensuring efficient control and balance. The rotation also enables the tails of Xpedition snowshoes to drop away from the bindings as you hike, effectively shedding snow, reducing resistance and minimizing the fatigue associated with carrying the unnecessary weight of clinging snow. The bases of the asymmetric ReAct bindings provide maximum support for your boots, securely locking the heels in place. The bases are fully adjustable to accommodate varied boot widths.
The Pro-Step frames are constructed of durable 6000 Series aluminum. The tapered tails and technical rises of the noses of the frames enhance balance and provide excellent flotation. These ergonomic features maximize flotation and allow you to maintain your normal walking stride, making Xpedition snowshoes extremely maneuverable. Built-in ActiveLift heel lifters lessen the distance that the bottoms of your boots travel from the snowshoe decks during climbs. This design improves performance on steep slopes and helps to reduce the fatigue associated with elevation gains.
The SoftTec decking material of Xpedition snowshoes provides durable, lightweight flotation. NOTE: A minimum base of 6"-8" of snow is suggested for usage in order to properly protect the integrity of the decking material.
Xpedition snowshoes are outfitted with high performance carbon steel Cobra toe crampons and a Grappler heel cleat. The combination of the two provides aggressive, confident traction in varying snow conditions and enhances performance during climbing and traversing.
Tubbs Xpedition snowshoes are sold in pairs.
