Product Highlights

Built for technical hiking and mountaineering, Tubbs Mountaineer Women's snowshoes are ready to take female winter sports enthusiasts deep into the backcountry and up and onto the highest peaks. Effectively and efficiently offering flotation and maneuverability, Mountaineer Women's snowshoes provide women with the high performance needed to tackle extreme adventure in demanding winter conditions.

Tubbs was the first manufacturer to offer snowshoes designed specifically for women, introducing women's specific bindings in 1998. Anatomic and ergonomic adjustments are made to each binding to provide the female snowshoe enthusiast with the fit, comfort and performance she deserves. Accounting for the fact that, on average, women have a shorter walking stride than men, Tubbs has tapered the tail on women's specific models to be 15% narrower than the tails found on men's snowshoes, allowing the user to maintain a more natural stride.

Mountaineer Women's snowshoes are available in two sizes. Measuring 8" x 21" each, Mountaineer Women's-21 snowshoes are suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of 80-150 pounds. At 8" x 25" per shoe, Mountaineer Women's-25 snowshoes are suitable for a total weight of 120-200 pounds.

Comfort and maneuverability are key elements of backcountry performance and Tubbs tackles both concerns with the design of the bindings used in their snowshoes. Mountaineer Women's snowshoes utilize the innovative Revolution Response II (RII) binding. This binding provides shock-absorbing lateral flex, ensuring that your foot remains in a natural position even when you tackle side slope traverses. This design also maximizes crampon penetration in the snow base, ensuring efficient control and balance. The rotation also enables the tail of the Mountaineer Women's snowshoes to drop away from the binding as you hike, effectively shedding snow, reducing resistance and minimizing the fatigue associated with carrying the unnecessary weight of clinging snow. The base of the RII binding provides maximum support for your boot, securely locking the heel in place. The base is fully adjustable to accommodate varied boot widths.

The tapered frame of each Mountaineer Women's snowshoe is constructed of strong, lightweight Momentum SuperLite 7000 aluminum. The tapered tail and technical rise of the nose of the frame enhance balance and provide excellent flotation. These ergonomic features allow you to maintain your normal walking stride, making Mountaineer Women's snowshoes extremely maneuverable. A built-in ActiveLift heel lifter lessens the distance that the bottom of your boot travels from the snowshoe deck during climbs. This design improves performance on steep slopes and helps to reduce the fatigue associated with elevation gains.

Extremely durable, the Mountaineer Women's ArcTec Plus decking material is performance tested to be effective even in temperatures as low as 40 degrees below 0 Fahrenheit (NOTE: A minimum base of 6"-8"of snow is suggested for usage in order to properly protect the integrity of the decking material.).

Tubbs Mountaineer Women's snowshoes are outfitted with the high performance Tubbs Viper/Python crampon system to maintain control and balance in snow and on ice. A crampon located under the ball of the foot employs ultra-long stainless steel teeth to provide optimal traction. Razor-sharp teeth in the toe serve as brakes and enhance performance during climbing and traversing. A stainless-steel heel crampon fixed centrally beneath your boot provides Mountaineer Women's snowshoes with constant, dependable traction.

All Tubbs Mountaineer Women's snowshoes are sold in pairs.
