Product Highlights

Providing ounce-counting backpackers and climbers with lightweight, packable performance, the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleep System includes an innovative NeoAir XLite inflatable sleeping pad, a compressible Alpine 35 Degree Down Blanket and an Ultra-Lite Pillow Case that converts clothes to a comfortable headrest.

Despite weighing just 12 ounces and packing down to a mere 9" x 4", the inflatable NeoAir XLite sleeping pad is built for lightweight backpacking and climbing. An integrated reflective barrier delivers a solid 3.2 r-value that makes the NeoAir XLite suitable for 3-season use. Unlike the limited number of vertical baffles employed by most traditional inflatable pads, the NeoAir XLite utilizes horizontal air baffles and an internal truss system to increase stability and eliminate the "pool raft" feeling caused by overinflated vertical baffles.

The inflatable construction provides a full 2.5" thick support base. Ultra-lightweight, high-tenacity 30d Nylon fabric offers durability and maintains an incredibly light packed weight. When fully inflated the NeoAir XLite measures 20" x 72". To aid in packing and provide backcountry confidence, Therm-a-Rest also includes a custom-sized stuff sack and a field repair kit.

The Alpine 35 Degree Down Blanket offers unrestricted freedom of movement with 3-season warmth. Filled with box baffled, 700 fill-power goose down insulation, it weighs just 1 pound 5 ounces. Highly compressible, this hybrid goose down blanket provides a 35 degree comfort rating and, unlike many cocoon-like sleeping bags, it offers freedom of movement and enhanced ventilation on balmy nights.

Though it can be used on its own as a sprawling 48" x 76" comforter, the Alpine Down Blanket serves as a backcountry sleeping bag by securing it to the NeoAir XLite pad with the Fast & Light Mattress Snap Kit (included). A storage sack with drawstring closure is also included.

Delivering additional comfort while adding very little weight or bulk, the UltraLite Pillow Case can be stuffed with clothes to create a 14" x 17" headrest.

The entire Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleep System weighs in at just 2 pounds 3 ounces!

Likes: The sleep system was great! Worked as advertised. I was comfortable in all sorts of temps. It's easier to turn over as you sleep, as well. It set up quickly and actually compressed down to its original size.

Dislikes: Its inner baffled construction makes the pad a bit noisy. The instructions as to how to attach the snaps aren't clear. I was glad I'd purchased the sheet so I didn't have to deal with that process. I think if you can afford the few oz's of the sheet you should get it as the covering of the pad is not all that pleasant to sleep on.

Likes: Great sleep system--NeoAir XLite pad exceeds all expectations--it's warm, very comfortable, and lightweight. The only minor complaint is that it does make some crinkly noises when you move around, but tolerable. Is fine for side or back sleeping.
The Alpine Down blanket is decent (35F rating is pretty accurate). I found that wrapping the blanket around me (instead of the pad) kept me much warmer, and allowed for greater range of movement.

Dislikes: Leave the mattress snap kit and pillow case at home--the snap kit is a nice idea, but wrapping the comforter around me worked better, and a regular stuff sack is just as good as the pillow case.

Likes: This product combination is just as you would expect: extreemly compact and light for a total sleeping system. I have many other Cascade design products, including the the original Therm-a-rest NeoAir and a Haven bag. This new combination is the go to bag for anything over 30 degrees. It is comfortable and warm in addition to the light weight and compact size.

Dislikes: I'm not a big fan of the pillow case. I'm sure it would work great if you have a big puffy down jacket to shove inside of it, but I don't. Extra clothing is fine, but the lumps and hardnes keep me going back to my Therm-a-rest down pillow instead.
