New for 2013! A unique option for alpinists and ounce-counting backpackers, the hoodless Therm-a-Rest Navis 25/45 Degree sleeping bag delivers lightweight warmth and has modularity that allows it to be used with a hooded down jacket (not included) when temperatures drop.
With 40 years of experience building sleeping pads, Therm-a-Rest has an extensive background on how sleepers sleep. This wealth of experience has led to the development of the Therm-a-Rest sleeping bag, a unique offering that utilizes zoned insulation and Synergy Link mattress connectors to keep the bag and pad properly connected. Based on thermal mapping, insulation is concentrated on the top of the bag and used sparingly on the sides and bottom of the bag. With an assured connection point between the bag and the pad, warmth is directly provided to the sleeper by the R-value of the sleeping pad. NOTE: Unlike traditional sleeping bags, there is little to no insulation on the bottom of the sleeping bag.
The Navis 25/45 Degree bag is insulated with 700+ fill goose down. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet. Therm-a-Rest minimizes that risk by applying a DWR finish to the Navis 25/45 Degree bag’s 30D Nylon Ripstop face fabric.
Eliminating cold spots and providing comfort, sewn through baffles at the top of the bag layer easily over extra layers. The baffled construction ensures that insulation remains effectively distributed throughout the bag. An insulated draft tube sewn behind the snag-free zipper keeps cold air from reaching the inside of the sleeping bag.
The Therm-a-Rest Navis 25/45 Degree sleeping bag fits up to 5’ 10”. A stuff sack and storage sack are included.
