Product Highlights

A unique hybrid for backpackers or car campers, the Therm-a-Rest Ventra Down Comforter allows you to make the most of your outdoor "sleep system". Unlike cocoon-like ultralight sleeping bags, the Ventra Down Comforter provides a 40 degree comfort rating and, unlike many cocoon-like sleeping bags, it offers freedom of movement and enhanced ventilation on balmy nights.

The Ventra Down Comforter is insulated with 650+ fill goose down. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. Combating "dead" spots, box-baffled construction helps to ensure that the down is distributed evenly throughout the Ventra Down Comforter.

Though it can be used on its own, the Ventra Down Comforter is a versatile companion piece when used with a sleeping pad and other sleep accessories. Snap Kits (sold separately) allow you to mate the Ventra Down Comforter with most any sleeping pad and/or use it with Therm-a-Rest Fitted Sheets (also sold separately) for maximum comfort.

The Therm-a-Rest Ventra Down Comforter is available in two sizes and your choice of color options.

Likes: I'm a fit 6'4, 240 lb. guy. I use pad & sheet from thermarest w/comforter. I've slept with temperatures of 3 nights in the teens, 7 nights in the 20's, 13 nights in the 30's and many nights between the 40's and 50's.  I am a warm blooded Floridian and I DO NOT like the cold.  With that being said, I slept every night, except the nights in the teens,  using my venture down comforter, in my socks and draws only. I would get a little sweaty if I wore more clothes than that. The comforter provides just enough room for me to toss and turn and not feel confined.  I was amazed I got it packed to the size of a liter water bottle w/ the help of 2 compression straps.

Dislikes: The way the comforter is designed to be used with the fitted sheet there is extra room at the feet area.  I would have liked extra length at the head area also, so I would have been able to cacoon myself during 40*F nights.  The large comforter's length ends at the top edge of the 77" pad. With my height I use all 77" of my pad and that left my poor noggin out to get cold each night, unless I scrunched myself up, which either proved to be very uncomfortable.
