Committed to designing outdoor equipment that enhanced the wilderness experience, George Marks and Bob Swanson teamed up in 1965 to launch Sierra Designs. At the forefront of innovation right from the beginning, Sierra Designs consistently rolled out ground-breaking features, unveiling the first tent to use a combination of bent and straight poles and releasing the first sleeping bag in the United States to offer 700-fill goose down and a contoured hood.
Though design and technology have changed dramatically over the past 40 years and many manufacturers have fallen by the wayside, Sierra Designs continues to garner awards and recognition for their tents and sleeping bags.
