Backcountry Edge is growing and we have several permanent full-time and part-time openings in our warehouse and customer service departments. We also have seasonal opportunities available in those areas for spring/summer 2013.

Warehouse Associate

The Backcountry Edge warehouse serves as a fulfillment center for individual customer orders. Outbound orders are picked and packed for shipment via small parcel carriers such as UPS and the US Postal Service. Inbound shipments are received into inventory and stocked on shelves in designated locations.

Duties of this position include:

· Pick, pack and ship customer orders
· Receive product into inventory
· Stock shelves

Warehouse Qualifications

· Basic computer skills
· Ability to maintain an organized work area
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Salary range for the warehouse positions is $8.75 - $10.50 DOE

Associate-Level Gear Specialist

Backcountry Edge Gear Specialists work with backpacking gear every day. They assist customers in choosing the right products over the phone, via email or live chat. They provide product use and care information and serve as a resource for general inquiries about the sport of backpacking. They also process orders, answer order status inquiries and work with customers to solve problems. Gear Specialists are often part of our in-house video team helping to produce all those awesome videos on the Backcountry Edge website and YouTube channel.

For the right candidate, there is a potential career path into higher-level sales, merchandising or purchasing positions.

Duties may include:

· Support customers with product information and helpful advice via phone, email and live chat
· Enter customer orders
· Handle general customer inquiries
· Process and prepare orders for shipment
· Provide support for our purchasing and merchandising teams
· Act as a member of our in-house video production team

Customer Service Qualifications

· A pleasant telephone demeanor
· Strong written communications skills for direct correspondence with customers
· Basic computer skills
· Knowledge of backpacking gear and apparel gained either as an avid enthusiast or through retail sales experience
 
Some light travel may be required to attend occasional line reviews and trade shows.

Salary range for the gear specialist positions is $11.00 - $16.00 DOE
