New for 2008! Spacious and full of features, the Sierra Designs Velox 2 is a lightweight backpacking tent that doesn't compromise on performance. A freestanding, 3-season, 2-person tent, the Velox 2 provides comfort and confidence for backcountry adventure.

Designed to house two, the Velox 2 offers over 28 sq. ft. of usable interior space. Sewn-in pockets serve as interior gear hideaways and dual vestibules provide an additional 14 sq. ft. of sheltered exterior storage space.

The Velox 2's DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles offer sturdy, freestanding support without adding much weight to your pack. A Quick Pitch Swivel Hub allows the dual poles to work as a single unit and makes setup fast and efficient. An innovative H-Clip attachment allows you to maximize the tension in the roof of the tent to achieve a 40" interior peak height. Reflective guy lines help to further secure the Velox 2 and provide visibility when returning to your tent after dark.

Extensive mesh on the tent body provides excellent ventilation and allows air to circulate through the Velox 2. The vestibule door can be tied back and the large interior mesh stash door can remain open to provide increased cross-ventilation on balmy days.

A dye-free optic white canopy makes the interior of the Velox 2 more livable by transmitting natural light more effectively. This feature really shines on long, rainy days spent inside the shelter of your tent. The Velox 2's fabrics have been treated with Sierra Designs Tent Guard with Ultra Fresh, ensuring protection against mold and mildew and extending the life of the tent. Environmentally-friendly PVC-free seam tape protects the interior of the Velox 2 from moisture and precipitation.

A compatible, custom-fit footprint, sold separately, can be used to further protect the floor of the Velox 2 from sharp objects, mud and ground water. You can even use the footprint with just the rainfly of the Velox 2 for an ultra-light shelter weighing in at just 2 lb 13 oz.!
