Product Highlights
The Sierra Designs Rock Creek 30 Degree Women's Long sleeping bag weighs 2 lb. 7 oz. and compresses to a stuff size of 7" x 17". Its women-specific design, array of features and warm, compressible down fill make the Rock Creek an ideal choice for 3-season backpacking and travel. Having developed the first women's-specific sleeping bags back in 1995, Sierra Designs early on realized the differences between male and female campers and hikers. By offering sleeping bags that are tapered to be narrower at the shoulders, wider at the hips and adjusted for height differences, Sierra Designs has created a line of bags that cater to women. Increased insulation in the torso and foot box regions also reflects the results of research into what women want and need in a sleeping bag. The Rock Creek is insulated with 600-Fill goose down. Down not only has a soft, comfortable feel, it has the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The feathers and fibers are renowned for their efficiency in trapping body heat and are very easily compressed, taking up less space in your backpack. The one weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet. Full of features, the Rock Creek has a zippered valuables pocket stitched into the front of the bag and integrated pad locks to keep you from rolling off of your sleeping pad while you sleep. Sierra Designs' innovative snag-free zipper tracks protect the liner by creating a barrier which prevents stuck zippers. The inside of the Rock Creek has a fashionable snowflake-pattern lining. An ergonomic hood with a drawstring cinch and ergonomically-shaped foot box add to the Rock Creek's compact silhouette and aid in insulation. The foot box of the Rock Creek is lined with Tricot. Not found on Sierra Designs men's sleeping bags, this fleece lining adds warmth and helps to prevent cold feet. A fully-insulated draft tube sewn behind the zipper keeps cold air from reaching the inside of the sleeping bag. The Rock Creek utilizes a baffle construction in which panels are created by stitching the inner liner and outer shell together to form horizontal tubes. The tubes increase the effective life expectancy of the Rock Creek by making certain that the down remains distributed evenly throughout the sleeping bag, insulating your entire body without risk of cold spots from a lack of fill. Further increasing durability, all of the seams of the Rock Creek are tucked and sewn from the inside. This tuck stitching reduces wear and tear by eliminating any external seams that might easily snag and tear. A stuff sack and cotton storage sack are included. The Rock Creek 30 Degree Women's Long fits up to 5' 10".
