A lightweight alternative to a sleeping bag, the Sierra Designs Backcountry Quilt 800F 2-Season is open on one side in order to fully utilize your sleeping pad for under-body insulation and padding. While not for everyone, the innovative design of the Backcountry Quilt 800F 2-Season increases weight-savings and efficiency in your gear for camping in warmer weather. And unlike other quilts, the Backcountry Quilt is extra long and includes several unique features.
The Backcountry Quilt 800F 2-Season contains 11 ounces of 800 fill duck DriDown water-resistant down for extreme comfort. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel, and despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the DriDown featured in the Backcountry Quilt 800F 2-Season performs differently. Employing a unique, innovative polymer application, DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down. This treatment results in insulation that stays dry up to 10 times longer and dries 33% faster, should it become wet, than untreated down.
Key features in the Backcountry Quilt 800F 2-Season include durable nylon ripstop shell fabrics and a hide-away integrated hood that insulates your head on colder nights, but naturally stays sealed and draft-free when not in use. Full-length, insulated arm and hand pockets supply insulation under your arms and helps you easily create a tight, tucked-in seal around your body, as needed, or open up the quilt on warmer nights.
With a trail weight of just 1 lb, 7 oz, the unique Sierra Designs Backcountry Quilt 800F 2-Season fits individuals up to 6’ 4" tall and comes with a stuff sack.
